The catalog test rejects Chinese text equal to its English source; CTest (CMake test configuration name) and the Tomcat dialog's URL: and JRE: labels were left as English.
Tasks can be renamed from the list and the tab; an explicitly submitted name is kept. Rerunning the first turn asks before clearing the conversation and resets nested subagent history. Codex questions use the shared question card and keep their ids, so identical questions keep separate answers.

`/opt/tool` has no drive letter, so Windows rejects it as non-absolute before the API 1.3 gate the test checks. `~/tool` parses on every platform.

The SQL console and GraphQL editors draw transparent text over their highlighting, so a selection showed only an empty highlight; they now get selection colours from the tokens, so selected text stays readable in light and dark themes. Agent action buttons share one size, and the Home composer uses the same width token as the conversation composer. Verified on macOS in light and dark themes.

A retired language-server instance could still act after a replacement started: its close or failed startup published Down (a false "restart failed"), and stop/supervisor cleanup cleared the replacement's diagnostics and progress. Retirement now commits state, status, phase and cleanup together for its own generation, with event callbacks ordered outside state locks, and ordinary diagnostics and task events go through the same retirement queue. Verified on macOS with failing-before/passing-after tests and repeated real-server restarts.

The plugin process-environment test looked for Git only on a Windows user PATH, so it failed before reaching its assertions when Git was on the system PATH. It now pins a temporary, deliberately unspawnable file, so both process APIs must reject environment overrides before anything runs, and it uses the platform's key comparison when picking a second inherited variable.

A diagnostics test assumed a cold plugin actor would enter its provider within 10 ms, which failed on slower CI. The fixture is prewarmed and uses synchronous entry gates, so the tests tell a skipped request from a provider that started and hold the provider past the unchanged deadline; adds a test that cancelling a running provider doesn't affect another window's command.

Go compares workspace membership against the working directory lexically, but Build/Rebuild/Build Artifacts canonicalized GOWORK while leaving each member's working directory as written, so equivalent paths (symlinked roots, parent-relative members, Windows verbatim prefixes) could be rejected. Members are now canonicalized the same way. Verified on macOS with real Go builds from native, canonical and parent-relative roots; Windows not run.

Fixes#2039
CMake configurations bypassed the Build executor and Build Project ignored the selected target, so CMake projects had no hammer, configure/build output went to Run tabs, and generated names carried a "(build)" suffix (the build directory) that read like an action. Now the toolbar hammer and Cmd+F9 build the selected CMake target and profile without running it; configure/build prerequisites of Run, Debug and CTest run in the Build window and a failed build prevents the launch; generated executables are "CMake Application" configurations; generated names add profile/build directory only when needed to tell them apart ("hello", or "hello [Debug · build-debug/]"). Saved names and configuration ids are kept. Verified on macOS.
Closes#2053
A call that begins a background task gets the longer `background` budget, but it was armed once, so a task that kept calling `report` was still killed at the first deadline. Each `report` and `is-cancelled` now renews it (the deadline only moves forward; silent work still times out), up to a 30-minute ceiling per task. User Cancel, disable and unload still interrupt the task, teardown interrupts a running task promptly, and cancellation is counted once. WIT change is documentation only. Verified on macOS with a 75 s task.

Closes#1952
API 1.3 adds a diagnostics provider for unsaved documents: the host sends versioned text for the declared languages after a 300 ms debounce, cancels superseded calls, drops late or stale answers under the editor-provider budget, and clears results with the document, project or plugin. Ranges are UTF-16. Actor panics are contained, queued work is rejected after a host panic, and diagnostics arriving after plugin cleanup are discarded. Verified on macOS with the diagnostics fixture.

A plugin web view can open a read-only editor tab that streams a process's output, with plugin-defined toggles, Find, wrap, zoom and Clear. The process is authorised in the backend against the exact granted `process:<program>` and its pinned executable, output is bounded, and the stream survives tab switches but ends when the tab closes, the plugin is disabled or the window closes. Adds a web-log test fixture and docs. Verified on macOS; Windows/Linux not run.

Fixes#2034
Call hierarchy, Find Usages and rename widen a server's answer by opening project files that mention the symbol's name and asking again. For JDT LS those files are mostly sources it already analyses, so nearly every incoming-calls request ran a second, slow round before anything was shown. Widening now asks the server which candidates are already in its analysis scope (optional `openidea.workspace.coveredFiles` command, served by the bundled JDT extension using the live source search scope) and only opens the rest; a missing or failing answer keeps the previous behaviour. Covers call hierarchy, references and rename. Hierarchy on a multi-module Maven fixture: median 703 ms → 224 ms, one query round.
A plugin web view can open interactive PTY sessions (spawn, input, resize, kill, streamed output and exit). Spawning requires the exact granted `process:<program>` and its pinned executable, with no PATH re-resolution or fallback shell; the cwd is the trusted project, arguments, environment (append-only) and sizes are validated, and at most eight sessions run per plugin. A frame can only drive the sessions it opened; output is acknowledged chunk by chunk and input/output are bounded. Sessions end on permission change, reload, disable, uninstall, frame teardown or window close. Requires API ^1.3; adds a web-pty test fixture. Verified on macOS; Windows/Linux not run.

Go to Declaration on a `${key}` placeholder inside YAML, properties or Spring XML now resolves the key to its definitions in the module's configuration files (profiles included, several targets open a chooser) and in Spring XML. Placeholders are parsed brace-balanced, so nested placeholders and defaults resolve at every position; configuration files come from the same module roots as the Java-side lookup; the file list is cached per root and refreshed on watched-file create/delete/rename. Ranges are UTF-16. Verified on macOS with a Spring Boot project.

Plugins can declare `detail = true` on a tree or list view (any tool-window side, grouped or not) to show the selected item's detail-provider tabs beside the list. The pane follows selection and refresh, clears stale content when the item, project or remote host changes, shows an empty state when nothing is selected, and remembers its resizable divider. Services keeps its single split. Released WIT and IPC shapes are unchanged. Verified on macOS in light and dark themes.

Closes#1944
API 1.3 lets a plugin search the IDE's workspace symbol index. Results are limited to paths the plugin may read under its `project.read` grant (external content roots and symlink aliases excluded), the search honours the call's cancellation and deadline including lock waits, and ranges use UTF-16. Incremental index updates no longer publish symlink-ancestor aliases. Verified on macOS with the test fixture.

Closes#1951
Gutter markers only recognised a short alias list and the runtime truncated icon references at 32 bytes, so ordinary icon names and package paths were dropped. Markers now accept any built-in icon name, and API 1.3 `contributes.markerIcons` declares package SVGs (with an optional dark variant) that are size-limited, sanitised and rendered through the icon registry. The shared SVG sanitiser now also rejects URL strings in any CSS function (e.g. image-set), not only url(). Verified on macOS in light and dark themes.

Closes#1826
API 1.3 adds `run-command` (one-shot with stdin, cwd and environment) and a handle-based `start` for a long-running process with incremental stdin/stdout/stderr, both gated by the existing `process:<program>` grants. A plugin's environment entries are append-only: a key the child would already inherit (including the login-shell PATH) is refused with an error naming it, as are empty or malformed keys. Processes run in their own process group and are killed with their descendants when the handle is dropped, the plugin is disabled, unloaded or reclaimed, or the owning window closes; at most eight handles per plugin. Output is bounded and UTF-8 safe, stdin writes honour cancellation, and validation failures return typed errors instead of trapping the plugin. Verified on macOS; Windows/Linux not run.

Adds a local Tomcat Server run configuration: Server / Deployment / Logs / Startup-Connection tabs, an Application Servers dialog (home, version, base directory, libraries), HTTP/HTTPS/JMX/AJP ports, update and frame-deactivation actions, JRE and VM options, and run/debug with redeploy.
Tomcat HOME and a configured base directory are read-only sources: every launch, build metadata write, sync and update goes to an IDE-owned CATALINA_BASE per configuration, which rejects paths equal to or overlapping either source (symlinks included). With "Deploy applications configured in Tomcat instance" on, the source's webapps and conf/Catalina/<host> descriptors are copied into it; off, the recreated base has none. Controls without a runtime consumer were removed; removing every server profile clears the selection. Verified on macOS (run, port changes, sync/redeploy, servlet breakpoint, source trees unchanged); Windows/Linux not run.

Headless language tests could read an earlier, partial syntax tree after ensureSyntaxTree finished parsing, so highlight and state-based assertions depended on the initial 20 ms parse budget and failed intermittently under load. Shared test helpers now return the completed tree (or publish it to state), and every affected test uses them.

Python's highlighting hooks, member intentions and Implement Methods, and PHP's construct docs move under semantic/python and semantic/php behind a small registry of language-specific behaviour. Intentions now run only for the current document's language. Behaviour is otherwise unchanged; the generic language sets stay next to their users.

A single file's context configuration keeps the path it was produced
for, so moving main.cxx out of src/ left 'context:file:src/main.cxx'
selected while the gutter produced a second configuration for the new
path — the run command still compiled the old file.
fsChanged now drops temporary context configurations (context:file: and
the compiled context:build: partner) whose file was removed, the way
IDEA deletes the context configuration with the file. Saved and
detected configurations stay.

The Java defaults left JDT LS's generated-symbol filter on, so Lombok getters, setters, constructors, builder methods and logger fields were missing from Structure and File Structure. Enable `java.symbols.includeGeneratedCode`; generated entries now appear and navigate to their field or annotation. Adds a real-JDT LS regression test (manual, ignored by default).
The tables test fixture's nested editable-field check tripped clippy::collapsible_if under -D warnings, failing the Plugins CI job. Collapsed it with unchanged behaviour and rebuilt the fixture.

Plugin file templates could only take a typed name plus a fixed extension, so dot-files such as .dockerignore and templates needing more than a name weren't expressible. Templates (API ^1.3) can now declare a fixed `fileName` and named `variables` that the New File dialog asks for, and plugin templates get the same Java/Kotlin/Go/PHP package inference as built-in ones. Unsafe filenames and existing files are refused. The dialog no longer submits on Enter while an IME is composing, and its variable form has proper padding. Adds a file-templates test fixture.

Closes#1945
Resolving a lazy code action or file action dropped the invoking window, so a plugin couldn't ask the user anything (input, pick, confirm) while building its edit. Resolution now runs with that window, so prompts work during resolution; previews and Actions on Save never prompt, cancellation keeps the text unchanged, and stale edits are rejected. WIT and SDK docs describe the new behaviour; the released API surface is unchanged.

Qwen Code sends AskUserQuestion questions as `_meta.qwenQuestions` and expects `answers` keyed by question index beside its Submit option, so its questions never reached the question card and Submit answered with nothing. Closes#1949. Detected Go run, test and debug configurations ignored the build tags set for the project, so tagged files were left out. They now inherit the project's tags (unless the configuration opts out), including reruns, file-scoped tests and debug launches; maintenance commands keep running without them.

A build-only Go configuration over several packages (./...) failed because go build -o expects a directory for multiple main packages. Closes#1834. A console result grid is editable in place when its rows trace back to one base table: a plain SELECT of column references / * from one table (schema-qualified or aliased, resolved through the console's active schema) whose primary key columns are all in the result. Edits, added and deleted rows reuse the table editor's workflow and are applied in one transaction, then the query re-runs. Aliased or computed columns stay read-only; joins, aggregates, subqueries/CTEs, unions and ambiguous column provenance show a read-only banner with the reason.

Closes#1780. When a file open in the editor changed on disk, its language server got the change twice: a workspace/didChangeWatchedFiles notification, then the editor's reload as textDocument/didChange diffed against the pre-reload copy. Servers that re-read files on watched changes (csharp-ls) applied both and kept analysing stale content. Change events for documents open on that server instance are now left out (paths compared canonically); create and delete events are still delivered, servers without document sync still get every event, and other servers are unaffected.

Refs #1083 (step B). A local project with a devcontainer.json can be reopened in its dev container (File › Reopen in Container, Find Action): the Dev Containers CLI brings the container up and the window connects to openidea-server inside it, as for WSL, so terminal, language servers, run, debug and git work in the container. The project's identity stays the local folder, so reopening from Recent Projects finds the same container. Missing CLI gives install guidance; trust of the local project carries over. Pure CLI output parsing lives in ide-remote; a failed connection no longer closes the current backend early, saved locations keep the container configuration, and Docker context precedence follows the CLI.

Fixes#2028. A download that died mid-stream kept its partial file but started over from zero on retry. Downloads now resume with curl -C - when the partial belongs to the same URL (a .url sidecar records it; an untracked file or a different URL starts from zero, so a stale partial can't be spliced in); a server without byte ranges (curl exit 33) or HTTP 416 drops the partial and restarts. Covered by tests against a local HTTP server with and without Range support.

Closes#1836. AppKit reports page swipes (three-finger NSEventTypeSwipe and two-finger page swipes) outside the web view's key/mouse events, so the desktop shell now forwards them as SwipeLeft / SwipeRight keymap strokes that can be recorded and remapped. Every macOS preset (IntelliJ, Eclipse, VS Code) binds SwipeRight to Back and SwipeLeft to Forward; two-finger swipes over horizontally scrollable content still scroll, and turning off the system page-swipe gesture disables navigation.

Closes#2004. The Find in Files preview was a read-only standalone view with its own copy of the file. It now attaches to the shared document the editor tabs use (editor/api attachDocument with shared history): edits show up in open tabs and mark them modified, undo/redo go through the text tab's history, Save works, and match highlights follow the edits. Library sources, archives, large/binary files stay read-only; Enter in the preview inserts a newline instead of opening the result.
Plugin process: programs now start with the same prepared environment as service logs (ide_core::process::prepare), so tools such as kubectl find credential helpers on the login-shell PATH when the IDE was launched from the GUI. View messages may now be up to 8 MiB (was 1 MiB) so explorer views can post large snapshots.

Services-originated debug sessions and reruns now start with show: false and stay in the Services detail pane (in-place launches and reruns keep that origin; a breakpoint hit still shows the paused session). Debug from the toolbar, gutter, context menu and the Debug window keeps opening the Debug window. Also: palette themes inherit the macOS window button colours, and the title bar's fullscreen buttons skip Tauri calls outside Tauri (fixes the theme-token and title-bar test failures on main).

Closes#447. Each SQL console gets an active-schema dropdown (PostgreSQL / MySQL / Oracle schemas; SQL Server selects the database, since T-SQL has no per-session default schema), remembered per console file; hidden for SQLite and ClickHouse. Every statement run through the pool first asserts the console's context, or the connection's default when none is selected (skipped when the tracked context already matches), and manual-commit sessions restore the default before the connection returns to the pool, so one console's schema never leaks into another.

Refs #1083 (step A2). Debug now works on Python configurations whose run target is a Docker image or Compose service: the run starts the program in a new container under debugpy (the image's own, else the IDE's managed copy mounted read-only), publishes the debug port on 127.0.0.1 only, and the debugger attaches like a Python Remote Debug configuration with the project folder mapped. Console scripts (pytest) run as modules and `uv run` keeps the manager in front; shell command lines are refused. Container debug startup is bounded (error when the container exits early or debugpy isn't ready in 120 s) and stopping the debugger stops the container.

File-scoped Go tests compiled a synthetic package from the one file, so helpers in sibling files, TestMain and the external _test package were missing ("undefined: helper"). They now run in their real package with tests declared in sibling files excluded from the -run selection, in Run, Debug and reruns; build-file selection is kept, and a name shared by the internal and external test packages gives an actionable error instead of running the wrong test.

Go test reruns now keep full subtest paths (each segment anchored) and run each package with its own selection; tests and benchmarks use their own filters (-run / -bench with -run '^$'), and stale tool or test-binary filters can no longer override reruns or gutter launches. File configurations keep their file target and original run configuration. Boolean test flag aliases are parsed before package targets.

Closes#1989. #1846 stopped offering the previous model's thinking levels on the New Task page by dropping thought_level from the provider-wide remembered config, which also removed the choice before the first message. Thinking levels (and the last choice) are now remembered per provider and model; the New Task page shows the levels of the selected model, hides the picker for models with unknown levels, and at start applies the model first, then the effort only if the session offers that value.
Fixes#1977. External Libraries only inspected the project root and cached incomplete results, so ecosystems in nested modules/workspace members (e.g. a pnpm frontend under a Cargo + Maven repo) and dependencies installed after the first listing never appeared. Providers now discover module/workspace roots (package.json workspaces, pnpm-workspace.yaml, Cargo members, nested manifests), follow pnpm symlinks, include local Cargo path dependencies, stream groups to the Project view as each provider finishes so a slow cargo metadata doesn't hide the others, log failures instead of dropping them, and don't cache cancelled or failed results.
Adds fs.write-file / fs.write-bytes behind a new fs.write:<path> capability (high risk; resolved to the real path, a missing file through its real directory, so a link cannot reach outside the grant; writing doesn't imply reading), and workspace.project.write-file(path, text) behind project.write (medium risk; stays inside the root and creates missing directories).
Writes go through the editor's save path: atomic, keeping the file's encoding and BOM (new files are UTF-8), capped at 16 MiB, and refused while an editor holds unsaved changes for the file. Both capabilities need engines.openidea ^1.3. Tested through the real component (misbehave fixture) and the SDK mock.
