Indent guides are drawn as one 1px strip per level in the `::after` overlay (so selections and mark backgrounds don't cover them), stay straight across wrapped and empty lines, and start at the first nested level: the column-0 guide is gone. Code lens rows keep the guides of the line they annotate.

Whole-line copies and cuts paste above the caret line from every paste entry point (shortcut, menu, history, plain text), including a copied blank line. Paste from History opens a dialog with filter, multi-select, delete and preview. Copy Path/Reference (⇧⌘C) opens a chooser for absolute path, file name, content-root/source-root paths, path with line and reference. Text pasted into a string literal is escaped (Smart Keys setting; Paste as Plain Text bypasses it), and missing imports are added after a paste (Auto Import setting: Ask / Always / Never).

Tab labels read an editor kind's title only when the tab state changed, so renaming an agent task left its open tab with the old title. Agents now signal title changes through the workbench (`notifyTabTitlesChanged`), and tab labels re-render on it; tabs restored before the agent tasks loaded refresh once the tasks arrive.

@file references and /skill commands become inline tags anywhere in the prompt, in Home and in a conversation. Tags are edited as a unit (Backspace/Delete, arrows) and are not committed mid-IME composition. Files and folders dragged from the Project view become references, mapped into the task worktree; paths outside the project, traversal and relative paths are rejected, and a deleted reference can be dropped again.

A plugin web view can open a read-only editor tab that streams a process's output, with plugin-defined toggles, Find, wrap, zoom and Clear. The process is authorised in the backend against the exact granted `process:<program>` and its pinned executable, output is bounded, and the stream survives tab switches but ends when the tab closes, the plugin is disabled or the window closes. Adds a web-log test fixture and docs. Verified on macOS; Windows/Linux not run.

Headless language tests could read an earlier, partial syntax tree after ensureSyntaxTree finished parsing, so highlight and state-based assertions depended on the initial 20 ms parse budget and failed intermittently under load. Shared test helpers now return the completed tree (or publish it to state), and every affected test uses them.

Closes#2004. The Find in Files preview was a read-only standalone view with its own copy of the file. It now attaches to the shared document the editor tabs use (editor/api attachDocument with shared history): edits show up in open tabs and mark them modified, undo/redo go through the text tab's history, Save works, and match highlights follow the edits. Library sources, archives, large/binary files stay read-only; Enter in the preview inserts a newline instead of opening the result.
Adds the API 1.3 `endpoints-provider` export and `[[contributes.endpoints]]` (file globs, ^1.3, `project.read`). A plugin's routes join the Spring ones in Search Everywhere, `.http` URL completion and the declaration's Open in HTTP Client gutter action. The UI asks `plugin_endpoints` on demand; the host runs the plugin on a blocking thread, validates the whole list (bounds, project-relative locations, UTF-16 ranges) and caches it per project until a file matching the globs changes, then emits `EndpointsChanged`. A failed or invalid run keeps the last list; disabling, crashing or closing the project withdraws it, and late results can't restore it. Closes#1960.

Angular component templates in @Component({ template }) were parsed as TypeScript strings, so template highlighting and tag closing never applied. TypeScript files in Angular projects (angular.json or @angular/core) now use an Angular TypeScript mode that mounts the Angular template parser on literal template strings; other strings and non-Angular projects are unchanged. Inline and external templates both close tags on /, with multiple cursors and undo.

go.mod and go.work opened as plain text: their language definitions had no ui-mode, so no CodeMirror language loaded. Add a GoMod mode (a small stream parser): directives as keywords, module paths as strings, versions as numbers, // comments; shared by go.mod and go.work.

* perf(project-tree): measure row widths once per frame
The horizontal scroll range was measured in a layout effect on every render:
each pass forced layout, its setState re-rendered synchronously and measured
again, and the ResizeObserver was recreated each time, firing once more.
Expanding a 10k-entry folder went from ~26 ms to ~63 ms.
Keep one observer per tree and coalesce renders and resizes into a single
measurement on the next animation frame. Expanding is back to ~30 ms and
arrow-key p50 drops from 3.3 ms to 1.7 ms; the widths behave as before.
* perf(github): load the pull requests integration after start-up
Actions, the tool window and the timeline editor stay registered at start-up;
their implementations, the connection and review-mode tracking load on idle
or on first use. Takes ~60 KB gzip off the initial bundle.
* perf(templates): load Emmet when an HTML or stylesheet editor opens
The Emmet engine (~70 KB minified) was part of the initial bundle; it now loads
with the first editor that can expand abbreviations, or with Update Tag with Emmet.
* perf(search, run): load popups and Edit Configurations when first shown
Search Everywhere, Find in Files, the recent files/locations popups, File
Structure and the Run/Debug Configurations dialog were part of the initial
bundle although each only renders while open. `lazyWhen` mounts a lazy view
only while its condition holds; the idle prefetch still loads them right after
start-up, so opening one stays as fast.
* perf: load dialogs, the SQL console and diff views on first use
- Database dialogs, Assign Shortcut and the Logcat tool window load when shown.
- The SQL console extensions load with the first SQL editor
(`lazyEditorExtension` reconfigures the editor once they arrive).
- The changes tree loads the diff viewer when a file is selected, and
"Open Repository Log" loads the revision browser when run.
* perf: load plugin, debugger and project popups when first shown
The IntelliJ theme import, the debugger's popovers and dialogs and the title
bar's project popup now load when first opened. `lazyWhen` keeps a view
mounted once shown, so its own open/closed handling is unchanged.
* perf(angular): parse only text with Angular syntax as Angular
Every text node of a template got its own nested Angular parse, including
the whitespace between tags, which is most of them. Text without a `{`, `}`
or `@` holds no interpolation or block, so it stays HTML text. A full parse
of a 12k-line template takes about a fifth less work.
* perf(angular): reuse nested trees of unchanged text and attributes
An edit makes the mixed parser recreate many text and attribute nodes it
does not keep: the document's own text and the nodes up to the viewport. It
reuses nested trees only of nodes it kept, so each of those was parsed again
as Angular on every keystroke (~170 nested parses per key in a 12k-line
template). Their parse depends only on their text, so the trees are now
remembered by text, up to about 2M characters.
Typing in the middle of a 12k-line template: main thread per key 57 -> 22 ms,
p50 latency 30 -> 19.5 ms, no long tasks.
* perf: budget typing in a large Angular template
* perf: measure code completion over a 2,000-item list
The harness's probe can answer completion with generated items through the
command route; language server requests go through a route when one is
installed, not only under Tauri. The scenario opens the popup by typing,
narrows it letter by letter and moves the selection, with budgets for each.
* perf(run): show a flood of console output at most every 50 ms
While a process printed thousands of lines a second, the Run console
appended, re-rendered and laid out on every frame, so typing in an editor
meanwhile missed the next frame 35% of the time. A line after a quiet spell
still shows on the next frame; a flood now updates the console at ~20 Hz,
and typing during it misses 2-5% (p50 16 -> 9.7 ms) with the output done as
fast as before.
The performance harness gets a scenario for it: 50,000 log lines at 200 a
frame (a dev and perf build action, run.sampleOutput) while typing.
* perf(vcs): keep Git Log rows from re-rendering on every selection change
Commit rows were memoized but received a new Set and new closures on every
render, so moving the selection re-rendered every visible row, and each row
built a new Intl.DateTimeFormat for its date. Rows now get stable handlers and
shared remote-name sets, and date formatting reuses cached formatters.
* perf: measure the Git Log and splitter dragging
gitLog shows 20k generated commits served page by page through a fake vcs_log,
walks the selection with the arrow keys and wheel-scrolls the list.
resizePanels drags the side and bottom splitters with an editor, the Project
tree and the Log open. The perf probe's fake backends can now be combined.
* perf: translate the sample output action and keep fake completion details out of the text catalog
* perf(vcs): keep Git Log scrolling smooth as pages load
Each page of the log recomputed hidden long edges by scanning every row once per
lane, and the store laid out the whole graph a second time for fields nothing
read. Long edges are now found in one pass over the rows, the unused store graph
is gone, and the next page is requested while a page of rows is still ahead so
fast scrolling doesn't reach the end before git answers. The commit list also
contains its layout, so rows entering while scrolling no longer relay out the
workbench.
* perf: load the Git Log scenario's pages with git's latency and scroll across several
Two inconsistencies with IDEA's Copy Reference (#1892):
- A language server may bake a signature into a callable's outline name
(jdtls returns DocumentSymbol.name = 'getUserById(int)', the params also
duplicated in detail). The reference then came out as
'pkg.UserService#getUserById(int)' instead of 'pkg.UserService#getUserById'.
Strip the '(…)' suffix for function/method/constructor symbols via a new
declaredName() helper, applied at both chain-mapping sites in
resolveReference.
- Kotlin and Scala joined the whole chain with '.', producing
'pkg.UserService.getUserById' where IDEA emits 'pkg.UserService#getUserById'.
Route them through the same jvmReference() as Java/Groovy so members are
separated from the type path by '#'.
Added tests for both cases and the signature stripping.
dispatchPaste spread the clipboard only when the line count equaled the
caret count and pasted the whole block at every caret otherwise. Follow
IntelliJ's ClipboardTextPerCaretSplitter instead: caret i gets line i,
extra carets get an empty insert, lines beyond the caret count are
dropped, and a single line repeats at every caret unchanged (a lone
trailing newline stays a single line).

* fix(editor): paste one line per caret when the counts match
Multi-caret paste inserted the whole clipboard at every caret: seven
carets and a six-line clipboard produced six full copies inside the
first pair of quotes and left the rest untouched.
When the clipboard has exactly one line per caret, each caret now gets
its own line — the JetBrains behavior the issue expects. Any other
count still pastes the full text at every caret. Shared by all three
paste entry points (normal, plain text, history) through dispatchPaste.

Agent task tabs now stay mounted while another tab is active (the five most
recently used per pane). A hidden one skips rendering with
content-visibility: hidden, which keeps its layout and scroll offset, so
showing it again costs a few milliseconds instead of building and laying out
the whole conversation. Hidden tabs don't mark their task read and close Find.
Thinking blocks and tool output now sit in a wrapper that skips off-screen
layout like other entries; on <details> itself WebKit wouldn't expand them,
so they were laid out in full on every resize and reopen.
Astro files get their own language: TypeScript frontmatter, HTML template with TSX expressions in text and tags, TypeScript scripts, astro-ls and oxlint servers, and file-type icons.
A plugin's side-by-side custom editor for an image-extension subtype (such as *.excalidraw.svg) was intercepted by the image viewer. The image viewer now yields to a matching text editor wrapper, and an image tab already open switches to the text editor when such a wrapper registers later (after plugins load).

With focus in a plugin's web view, the window's blur fires when the frame takes focus, before any edit, and not again when the user switches applications, so edits made in the frame weren't auto-saved. The editor now also saves on the application-deactivated event.
A middle click on a tool window header hides the window, as its Hide button does; presses on the header's tabs and buttons keep their own behaviour. Editor tabs already closed on a middle click, except when Settings › Editor Tabs hides the close button: that marked the tabs as not closable, so a middle click (and Delete) did nothing. A tab item now hides only its close button and still closes.

Settings › Editor › General › Smart Keys › Enter › Insert documentation comment stub turns it off.
Starting OpenIDEA with a file showed the last session's tabs without the file: restoring the saved tabs counted as the user activating another tab, so the pending open of the launched file was dropped as superseded. Restoring a session no longer counts as an activation; the launched file opens next to the restored tabs and becomes active (also for a file opened with its project at startup).
.log files rendered as plain text: the log language had no ui-mode and CodeMirror ships no log grammar. A lightweight Log stream mode now colours severity levels (upper case anywhere, any case only when marked: [warn], <Info>, level=error), timestamps, exception names, URLs and stack frames, reusing scheme colours; WARN uses the UI warning colour.

* fix(editor): keep selections whole over line backgrounds and indent guides
Multi-line selections could show a 1px seam between their stacked
rectangles, indent guides showed as short dashes inside a selection,
and a breakpoint or execution line hid the selection past its text.
- Snap selection rectangle edges to device pixels so stacked pieces
share one edge.
- Paint caret-row, breakpoint and execution line backgrounds on a
pseudo-element below the selection layer.
- Draw indent guides on a pseudo-element above the text.
* test(e2e): check the visible selection layer in the theme flow
When the backend rejects an edit for any reason other than a stale version, the editor replaces its unsaved text with the file's content, but the reason was only printed to the webview console. The backend now logs the rejected edit with its path, and the editor writes the sync error and the discarded edits to the log file, so reports of edits that roll back (#1530, #1522) can be diagnosed from the log.
The diff and merge viewers had no overview lane, so changes outside the viewport were invisible. The scrollbar now marks every change, coloured by type (modified, inserted, deleted, conflict), in the side-by-side view (both panes), the aligned view (one stripe over the shared scroller), the unified view and the three-way merge editor; clicking a mark jumps to the change. Marks span the lane's width from the first to the last changed line with a 2px minimum. The colours are new --diff-*-stripe theme tokens (Darcula, Light and High-contrast values), mapped from ERROR_STRIPE_COLOR on .icls import and set in the Harbor Night theme template.

Copy Reference on a call site now resolves the method through Go to Definition and copies its qualified name (crate::Inventory::add in Rust, the dotted module path in Python, and so on); positions without an unambiguous method target copy the project-relative path and line, as before. The clipboard write starts during the key press with a ClipboardItem whose text resolves later, because WebKit rejects a write started after the asynchronous lookup; without ClipboardItem it writes plain text once known. Python module paths also drop everything up to the last src/ directory, for monorepo layouts.

Copy Reference used the outline symbols enclosing the caret, so anywhere inside a method it copied the method's qualified name and the line was lost. It now names a symbol only with the caret on a declaration's name (its selection range) and copies `path:line` everywhere else, for every language. The `package …;` symbol jdtls reports is no longer qualified, so that line copies `path:1`.

In some YAML files over about a kilobyte, a mapping that follows comment lines
lost its highlighting from the second comment to the end of the mapping. The
YAML parser (@lezer/yaml with @lezer/lr) can give that mapping node an inverted
range when it falls on a tree buffer boundary (1024 entries by default), and
highlighting skips the whole node. The YAML mode now parses into buffers of
65536 entries, so ordinary YAML files stay in one buffer and never hit the
boundary.

Importing a PhpStorm .icls applied Java/Kotlin keys and PHP-only colours to every language, so PHP variables, strings and punctuation came out wrong. Java, Kotlin and PHP attributes are now kept per language (Color Scheme lists them under their own nodes, and editors scope them by data-language), explicit attribute inheritance is resolved, an explicit TextAttributes value resets omitted bold/italic, the light/dark parent follows the scheme's background, and PHP classes, method declarations, fields, brackets and separators get their own tags. Selecting a language attribute in Settings previews that language's colours.

The selection is drawn in a layer behind the text, so any range with its own background (find
matches, warnings in light schemes, usages, semantic backgrounds) hid it: selected text there
kept its yellow or other highlight. Selected text is now also marked in the innermost span with
the selection colour, in text editors, notebook cells and the VCS viewers.
The overview lane sat over the scrollbar with pointer-events: none and is 12px wide, the native scrollbar 10px: a press on the lane's edge, or where marks covered the thumb, reached the text layer and dragged a text selection instead of scrolling. The lane now owns the vertical scrollbar, as IntelliJ's error stripe does: the native one is hidden, the lane's thumb drags (with the same geometry it is drawn with), and a press above or below the thumb pages the editor. Marks still jump to their line.

Document::diff only trimmed the common prefix and suffix, so two distant
edits on disk became one change spanning everything between them. The
caret and scroll position inside that span were mapped to its start,
which made the editor jump to the first edit after an agent, formatter
or git operation rewrote the file.
Diff the changed middle line by line (Myers via similar, 50 ms deadline
with a coarser fallback) and emit one change per edited region, trimmed
to its differing characters. The frontend DocSync path produces the same
per-region changes, so external reloads, local history restores and
formatting keep the caret and view in place.

Lines with a color literal show a swatch of the (first) color in the
gutter: `#rgb` / `#rrggbb` with or without alpha, `rgb()` / `rgba()` /
`hsl()` / `hsla()`, and CSS named colors in property values of style
sheets. Outside style sheets and markup only quoted hex values and color
functions count, so `#123` issue numbers and `#add` comments get none;
prose files get none at all.
Clicking a swatch in an editable file opens the system color picker; the
picked color replaces the literal in its own format (hex case and length,
the function's name and separators, the original alpha), as one undoable
edit per pick. Settings › Editor › General › Gutter Icons › Color preview
turns the swatches off.

Git › Show History for Selection, as in IDEA: from Git › Current File and the editor's Git menu it opens a tab with only the commits that changed the selected lines (or the caret line), newest first, and the block before and after each commit in the diff viewer. Only Show History for the whole file existed before. git log -L tracks the lines across renames; the selection is first mapped through unsaved and uncommitted edits to HEAD's lines, and those edits come first as Local Changes. The find bar belonged to the pane and every bar shared one query, and its effect re-ran the search and moved the caret whenever the active tab changed, so switching files dragged the previous file's search into the next one and lost its caret. Each tab now has its own find bar with its own query and options, as with IDEA's per-editor search session. The last search only pre-fills a newly opened bar (or the selection does) and drives Find Next without a bar; showing a bar again only highlights, and the caret moves only when the query or an option changes in that bar. Bars of closed tabs are dropped.

On WebKit, CodeMirror positions tooltips absolutely inside the editor, but the tooltip space still reported the whole window as the right bound. CodeMirror never shifted a tooltip near the editor's right edge to the left, the box was squeezed into the space left of that edge, and the next measurement read the squeezed width, so it could end as a one-character column. The tooltip space is now the editor's own horizontal extent (clamped to the window) and tooltips size to their content, which fixes hover, inline blame, debugger values, signature help and hints together.

"Show pinned tabs in a separate row" was ignored while "Multiple rows" was on, because the pinned row explicitly excluded horizontal layouts with multiple rows. With the rows split, dropping a tab on the pinned row pins it and keeps it in the pinned group, and dropping it on the other row unpins it.
