Spring Boot runs with a manual classpath (or no classpath placeholder) skip Java classpath resolution and so also skipped the console colour VM option. The shared console VM options are now applied on that launch path too; explicit spring.output.ansi.enabled settings are kept and resolved classpaths get the option once.
Root cause: projectPython built the interpreter prefix from the first Python configuration by dropping only the .py arguments, so a Django `manage.py runserver` config left `runserver` in the prefix. The prefix now ends where the program starts (`-m` or the script), so program arguments such as `runserver` and `test` never reach it; `uv run python` is kept. Covers both plain scripts and pytest files derived from the same prefix.

Django projects get a detected `manage.py test` configuration next to runserver and a Django tests configuration type (command, runner arguments, target, settings module, options). Results stream into the test tree with failures, errors, skips and subtests, failed tests navigate to their source line, Rerun Failed Tests narrows the command to the failed labels, and single tests run from the gutter.

The console virtualizes its rows, so a selection that scrolled out of the rendered window lost its rows and copying returned only part of it. Selected rows (and, while dragging, the rows between anchor and pointer) now stay mounted, auto-follow pauses while selecting, and each row ends with a line break so multi-line copies keep their newlines. Covered by unit tests and Playwright selection tests.

Running or debugging a main class from the editor, gutter or Project view now selects an existing saved Application or Spring Boot configuration of the same main class and module, keeping its VM options, environment and profiles, instead of creating a temporary one.

Spring Boot configurations get -Dspring.output.ansi.enabled=always: the Run console renders ANSI colours, but Spring only enables them for a terminal and the process runs on pipes. A configuration that sets the property keeps its value.

.NET projects had no run configurations.
Projects from .csproj files (and those listed in .sln/.slnx) now get configurations: executable projects (OutputType Exe/WinExe, or the Web SDK) get a .NET Project configuration running dotnet run, one per Project launch profile in Properties/launchSettings.json with its application URL and environment shown; test projects (Microsoft.NET.Test.Sdk) get dotnet test. The form edits project, target framework, launch profile, program arguments and environment, which override the profile's values. Debug builds the project, resolves the output assembly through MSBuild and launches it under netcoredbg, offering to install netcoredbg when missing. The source-text catalog test now ignores Rust character literals when collecting backend strings.

CMake run configurations used fixed arguments (-B build, Debug) and only recognised existing build directories.
Projects can now define CMake profiles under Settings › Build, Execution, Deployment › CMake: build type, generator, CMake arguments, build directory (default cmake-build-<type>), build arguments and environment. Each profile gets its own Configure, Build, CTest and target run configurations, named after the profile when there are several. Configure runs first only while the build directory has no CMakeCache.txt, and a generator change clears the stale cache before configuring. Projects without profiles keep the previous detection. Arguments are stored as lists and edited with the same quoting rules as program arguments. Toolchain selection is not part of this change.

Running Spring Boot main-class configurations had no Update action, and incremental Java builds did not publish edited resources to the running JVM. They now share the Update action, toolbar and build runner with Tomcat: resources go through the module's Maven or Gradle build and are published to the resolved runtime classpath, including Gradle's separate jdt.ls output directory. Class updates use scoped HotSwap when available and explain the restart requirement otherwise.
Both configuration types get "On 'Update' action" and "On frame deactivation" policies. A missing policy keeps the chooser and does no deactivation update. Focus tracking debounces external changes and prevents overlapping updates.
Verified on macOS with Maven, Gradle, Tomcat 10.1 and HotSwap. Windows and Linux focus detection were not run. On Linux a native GTK dialog can count as deactivation when no webview window is focused.
Fixes#580
Java launch preparation forwarded jdtls project-lookup failures unchanged, so a Maven module missing from the parent build or a wrongly inferred module showed a raw jdtls error in every Run and Debug entry point. Launch preparation now names the selected module and explains how to recover: wait for import, check the run configuration and the parent build, or open the folder as a project.
Covers the "does not belong to any Java project", "references non-existing project" and "not a Java project" responses. Cancellation, missing server, crash, timeout and build errors keep their existing handling. Import membership and module inference are unchanged.
Refs #197
Projects now open with a user-owned trust decision. The prompt offers Preview in Restricted Mode, Don't Open and Trust Project, with an optional trusted parent folder; preview is the default focus so Enter never grants trust.
Restricted projects keep browsing, editing, saving, search and highlighting. Project-controlled execution is denied by default in the backend: run, debug, build, tools, language servers, plugins and Git commands that could honour repository configuration. Trusting a project enables those paths without reopening it, and decisions can be revoked in Settings.
Terminals stay available when the user opens one, without project shell settings, environment or virtualenv activation. A shell prompt that runs git in the folder can still honour the repository's core.fsmonitor.

A direct debug launch kept its output only in Debug, while Services showed an idle entry or an earlier Run.
- Show the debug execution's console and running, suspended or finished state in Services, reusing the debugger's bounded console through the Run/Debug bridge. Console output does not rebuild the Services tree.
- Keep Maven and Gradle attached launches in their Run console, pairing Run and debug sessions by configuration and process.
- Stop an owning Run and wait for its process to exit before detaching its debuggers, so no new JDWP listener is attached again.
- Point configuration Stop and Rerun at the displayed execution, and group Stop at every live execution.

Java debug preparation ran before a session existed, so the toolbar and console stayed idle until jdtls had finished, and background console output waited for an animation frame.
- Create the Debug session as soon as the action starts, with progress in its console and a Stop that cancels preparation.
- Share launch preparation between Run and Debug, and move JDK and Lombok detection off the async runtime.
- Flush background console output on a timer as well as on animation frames, so a hidden window still receives it.
- Log how long each launch phase takes.

C/C++ files in a CMake project ran as standalone compiler commands, so multi-source programs failed to link. Single-file debugging selected CodeLLDB although the language uses lldb-dap. File aliases such as /tmp and /private/tmp could apply one rename edit twice. CMake command names were highlighted as variable definitions.
- Add CMake Configure, Build and CTest configurations, and read the File API codemodel after configuring to discover executable targets and their sources. Context runs select the owning target and build it first. Configuring only runs before the first build, since a configured build directory regenerates by itself.
- Debug C/C++ files and CMake targets with lldb-dap, and map CMake's recorded source root to its canonical path so breakpoints resolve.
- Coalesce file aliases and duplicate edits before preview and application, deduplicate references, and avoid reopening an open document through an alias.
- Replace the CMake syntax mode with command, argument keyword, predefined variable, boolean, number, string, comment and expansion highlighting.
Go settings, execution, debugging and test reporting were disconnected, leaving Go projects without editable build/test fields and workspace maintenance actions.
- Add project build constraints that update gopls in place, and notices on excluded files.
- Add editable Go Build and Go Test configurations with directory, package and file targets, separate tool and program arguments, modules, environment, output selection and build-only execution, and pass the same settings to Delve.
- Decode Go JSON test output into the results view, with subtests, failures, skips and rerun failed. Add gutter targets for benchmarks and generate directives.
- Add module environment and vendoring settings, read go.work members, and offer tidy, download, sync and use from file menus.
- Add file and package generate actions, and format and organize imports through gopls on Save and Reformat.
- Show what a Go program prints in the debug console: Delve's debuggee shares its stdio, which no DAP event carries.
- Keep the default build output out of version control, and keep configurations produced by an earlier run out of the gutter choices.

The Run console had no search, so finding a line meant scrolling long output by hand.
Cmd/Ctrl+F, a toolbar button and the context menu open a find bar over the whole buffer with match case, words and regex, a match counter, next and previous navigation, and highlighting that keeps output colours. It expands a fold hiding the current match, and works for test output and stack trace consoles too.

Services followed configuration detection order, so frequently used services could not be kept together. Services can now be dragged before or after a sibling, with an insertion indicator and edge scrolling, or moved with Move Up/Down from the toolbar and context menu.
The order is stored per project location and type, separately from configuration definitions. New configurations append, windows stay in sync, and a failed save keeps the order for the session with a warning. Sorting in Tree is opt-in, so other trees are unchanged.

Run and Debug passed the configuration working directory to java_resolve_launch as the module, so changing the working directory also changed which jdtls project supplied the classpath and failed with "references non-existing project". Java application configurations now store their module at detection and creation, keep it when the working directory changes, and clear it when the main class changes. Older saved configurations resolve it from the main class source file. The Kotlin debugger check also uses the module directory.
Fixes#435
Adding members to a Compound configuration went through a plain dropdown that closed after each pick and could not be searched. It is now a searchable picker that stays open, so several configurations can be added in a row; Enter adds the highlighted row, and Esc or an outside click closes it. Member rows are left-aligned because the label, not the icon, takes the free space. Members already added, the compound itself and candidates that would close a cycle stay excluded.

java/buildWorkspace builds the whole imported jdtls workspace, and its 5-minute cap failed launches in large multi-module projects. The budget is now 20 minutes, and the timeout error names it so a real stall can be told apart.
Waiting that long needs a way out, so java_resolve_launch now takes a RequestId and is cancellable locally and over remote. The token reaches the jdtls ready and import waits, the requests (sending $/cancelRequest), and the external build. Stopping a run session during this phase cancels silently and does not launch. Starting a debug session passes a request id but has no stop path yet.

Kotlin line breakpoints never verified through java-debug because jdtls cannot resolve classes for .kt files. Kotlin Application configurations and JDWP attach for modules with Kotlin sources now use the official Kotlin Debug Adapter (installable from the debugger prompt, running on the language-server JDK); pure Java keeps java-debug.
The adapter resolves classes from source paths, so sources whose directories don't match their package are mirrored package-aligned outside the project (symlinks, copies where links fail) and paths are mapped back for breakpoints and stack frames; files that can't be mirrored are skipped rather than failing the session. Kotlin applications start with JDWP suspend=y and a session-owned JDWP relay holds the adapter's early resume until attach completes, so breakpoints are installed before the program runs.
Limitations (docs/kotlin-debugging.md): @file:JvmName facades are not resolved; package/source-root changes need a new session. Not verified on a real Windows machine.

Adds Tomcat Server › Local run configurations for WAR applications: installation validation and version detection, Maven/Gradle WAR artifact discovery and build before launch, WAR file or exploded-directory deployment, context path and HTTP port, project JDK or a chosen JRE, VM options, environment variables and opening the browser.
Each configuration runs with its own CATALINA_BASE in the project cache (HTTP, shutdown and local JMX ports configured there); Stop requests a clean shutdown before the usual process timeout. Debug attaches the Java debugger over JDWP. Update Application (Cmd+F10) updates resources, classes and resources with HotSwap, redeploys or restarts the server. Configurations are grouped under Tomcat Server in the configuration tree and Services.

On Windows and Linux, Ctrl+C in the Run/Debug consoles and other DOM output views did nothing because no handler copied the selection. Each output view (Run and Debug consoles, Build output and message detail, Git console, database output, Docker logs) now copies its own selection on Ctrl+C / Ctrl+Insert (Cmd+C on macOS) through a shared helper, leaving views with their own copy handling (database grid, Problems) untouched. In terminals, Ctrl+C copies a selection on Windows and Linux and otherwise interrupts; on macOS it always interrupts. The console menu shows the host's copy shortcut.

Fixes#372
The Services tree dropped the shared Tree's selection set and resolved actions for the lead row only. It now keeps the full selection (Ctrl/Cmd-click, Shift-click ranges, Shift+arrows); toolbar and context-menu actions common to the selection run on every selected service, skipping disabled targets and descendants of a selected group. Entries that open a dialog are disabled for a multi-selection.
Fixes#376
The plain run glyph renders at 12px and the other gutter icons (run-all, run status badges, inheritance markers, HTTP request markers) at 14px through a shared gutterIconMarkup, so they look the same size. Run, Docker, HTTP, Spring HTTP and inheritance markers use it, and marker boxes are 14px to match the gutter column instead of overflowing it at 16px.
With several sessions running, the toolbar's Rerun and Stop could act on a different configuration than the selected one: when the selected configuration had no matching run session, the widget fell back to the most recently started session of another configuration; and debug sessions did not record the configuration they were started from, so a configuration being debugged never matched and a running npm session took over the buttons.
The widget, Run (Shift+F10) and Stop (Cmd+F2) now target the selected configuration's session, whether it was started with Run or Debug (the most recent when both exist); Rerun of a debug session reruns it in debug. When the selected configuration is not running, the widget offers Run / Debug for it, and Stop remains available for the other running sessions (with a chooser when several are running). Debug sessions keep their originating run configuration. In a focused Run or Debug tool window, Stop still stops the selected tab's process.

Adds Settings › Build Tools › Gradle: Gradle JVM (defaults to the Project JDK), distribution (wrapper or local installation with its home) and Gradle user home, stored in the project or global settings.
Sync and Gradle tool-window tasks use the configured JVM, launcher and GRADLE_USER_HOME. Run configurations keep their own choices: one that uses the wrapper runs gradlew, one that runs plain `gradle` resolves it from the local installation, then the pinned toolchain, then PATH; an explicit JAVA_HOME in the configuration wins over Gradle JVM. Derived defaults are applied at launch and not saved into run configurations. New Gradle configurations start with the wrapper off when the project uses a local installation.
Fixes#232
Run configurations whose command is a Windows launcher (mvn.cmd, MVN.CMD, a full C:\\…\\mvn.cmd path, gradle.bat, pytest.exe, java.exe, godot.exe, npm.cmd) opened in the generic command fallback because the Maven/Gradle, npm, pytest, Godot and Application/Spring Boot forms compared executable names exactly. A shared commandName() (basename, either slash, .exe/.cmd/.bat/.com stripped case-insensitively) now matches them, and the original launcher text is kept so the command line round-trips unchanged.
Refs #244
Detected run configurations (Spring Boot and Java applications, npm scripts, Maven/Gradle tasks, pytest, Cargo, Go, …) could not be removed: the − button was disabled because a removed detection would be found again. As in IntelliJ IDEA, they can now be removed and stay removed: the removed id is stored in the workspace-local run.local.toml (suppressed-ids) and detection skips it; saving a configuration with that id again lifts the suppression. Applies to the Run/Debug Configurations − button, the Delete key in its tree, and Delete in the run configuration chooser. Removing a saved override still restores the detected configuration; temporary configurations are unchanged.

.bat and .cmd files were plain text: no highlighting, no comment toggling and no Run. Batch is now a built-in language (languages/bat.toml, line comment @REM as in VS Code) with a CodeMirror stream mode for keywords, labels, %VAR% / %%i / !VAR! variables, strings and :: / REM comments. Comment toggling always separates a word-like token (REM) from the code. #291 named letter keys by the typed character (e.key) when Alt is not held, so AZERTY Ctrl+Z is no longer Ctrl+W. Hard-coded handlers still compared the physical KeyboardEvent.code. A shared letterOf(e) in platform/keymap.ts now backs strokeOf and those handlers:
- terminal Ctrl+Shift+C / V / T (copy, paste, new tab) and Ctrl+letter control codes
- Run/Debug Configurations Ctrl/Cmd+N
- browser shortcut guards (blocked reload/print etc.)
Alt combos keep the physical key (Option / AltGr type symbols).
Only the JVM the IDE launched directly was told the console's output encoding, so forked JVMs (spring-boot:run, Surefire, bootRun, Gradle workers), debugger-launched JVMs and Build-window builds wrote GBK on Windows while the console decoded UTF-8. Every JVM the IDE starts on Windows now gets the console encoding: java gets -Dfile.encoding alongside the std* properties, build tools and their forks get JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS (std* only) with the IDE's own 'Picked up JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS' line filtered, shell command lines are recognised by their first word, and java-debug launches get the matching vmArgs. The Debug console now shares the Run console's ANSI parser. Encoding helpers moved to ide-core::output_encoding.

java-debug runs inside jdtls and is reached through its debugServer port, but configurations that aren't Application / Spring Boot and select java-debug (a Shell Script running `catalina.bat run`, say) fell through to the generic launch template, and the adapter launcher tried to start com.microsoft.java.debug.plugin.jar as a process: on Windows that failed with os error 193, elsewhere with a misleading "debug adapter not found".
- Shell script / program configurations with java-debug start with a suspended JDWP agent injected through JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS and attach once the JVM prints its port, so `catalina.bat run` / `catalina.sh run` can be debugged.
- Maven goals that run the app in Maven's JVM (tomcat7:run, jetty:run(-war), exec:java, or any Maven config with java-debug) are debugged through MAVEN_OPTS.
- Gradle tasks that start no JVM say why they can't be debugged; `debug.startConfig` with a single debuggable config goes through the run debug flow.
- .jar adapters are never spawned as processes, and Windows adapter lookup only accepts PATHEXT files (so npm-installed adapters pick the .cmd shim instead of the POSIX one); the PATHEXT expansion moves to ide_core::process::executable_names, shared with ide-run.
Not run on Windows; the Windows resolution is covered by tests with an injected platform.

The Services tool window lists run configurations next to Docker. Spring Boot configurations appear by default; other types (Application, npm, Maven, Gradle, …) are added with + › Run Configuration Type and removed with Remove from Services, remembered per project. Nodes group by type and show running / stopped, with Run / Rerun, Debug, Stop, Show in Run Tool Window and Edit Configuration… in the toolbar and context menu; the detail pane shows the same console as the Run tool window. Running Spring Boot apps show the HTTP port read from the embedded server's "started on port" line.
Rerun now waits for the old process to exit before starting the new one, so a restarted server no longer fails with its port already in use, and a process stopped by the user no longer raises an exit-code notification.

Run configuration detection only looked for pom.xml / build.gradle(.kts) at the opened root, so a Maven or Gradle build in a subfolder produced no configurations, and Java files fell back to a single-file `java X.java` launch without classpath or build. Detection now takes the root build, or else the shallowest build on each branch up to three levels down, with the subfolder in the config's cwd, id and name; a multi-module parent pom counts as one build. Spring Boot applications (@SpringBootApplication with main in a module that applies the Spring Boot plugin) get spring-boot configurations that build the module and run with its classpath. Gutter and file runs pick the build the file belongs to (also for Go modules), and only files outside any build run as single files; the main config lookup takes the nearest bootRun / run / spring-boot:run.
On Windows, piped JVM (java, Maven, Gradle) and Python processes now write in the console encoding instead of the ANSI code page, so their output is no longer garbled. run_configs runs on a blocking thread.

Hard-coded UI text, titles and aria-labels in about 110 components (Git panels, hierarchy, pull requests, dialogs, settings, welcome) now go through tx; spliced fragments became whole sentences (fileCount, noneFoundLabel, hierarchyTitle) and pull request states use keyed messages. 225 zh entries added, stale fragment entries removed.
Also: tx used as a tag without interpolations (tx`No checks`) now looks the text up exactly instead of as a template, so it is translated like tx("No checks"); the text-catalog test checks such tags as plain literals. Check and test counts reuse the existing "{count} passed" / "{failed} failing" entries.

About 270 UI strings were JS template literals with interpolation passed to exact catalog lookup, so they could never be translated; about 25 more spliced lowercase English fragments into sentences.
`tx` now also works as a template tag (`` tx`Remove data source '${name}'?` ``): it looks up the entry by the literal parts (`{name}` placeholders), translates interpolated values that have entries, and remembers generated text so it re-translates after a language switch or when the catalog loads later. Call sites use the tag; spliced fragments are written as whole sentences per variant. Adds 280 Chinese translations and removes stale ones.
The catalog guard now also fails on untagged template literals reaching exact lookup (unless allowlisted with a reason), tagged text missing from the catalog, case-changed or ternary-suffix interpolations, and duplicate template patterns.

Root cause: the IDE only detected installed JDKs and had no way to get one, so any launch needing a newer JDK than the machine has (latest jdtls needs JDK 25) dead-ended in an error.
Fix: IDEA-style Download JDK (Eclipse Temurin via the Adoptium API, sha256-verified, reusing ide-tools' download/verify code; Windows zip, Linux tar.gz, macOS Contents/Home) into <app-data>/tools/jdks, registered with JDK discovery and rescanned after each download. "Download JDK…" in the Project SDK and Language Server JDK pickers; a one-click `java.downloadJdk` "Download JDK N" on "needs JDK N" errors, which also repoints a too-old language server JDK and restarts jdtls.
Siblings: language server status popup, jdtls launch notification, run console classpath error, debug launch, run configurations without a JDK ≥ the module's Java version, Maven/Gradle sync failures, single-file Java run without `java` on PATH.
Verified in the app on macOS: vendor/version/location queries, the Download JDK dialog from the Language Server JDK picker, a real Temurin 25.0.5 download that runs. Not verified on Windows/Linux.
