A plugin system built on WebAssembly components (wasmtime, WASI p2), with a
typed WIT API (`openidea:[email protected]`) and a Rust SDK, shipped as a preview.
- Extension points declared in `plugin.toml` (commands, languages, themes,
icon themes, menus, key bindings, status items, settings, views, custom
editors, file icons and templates, run detectors, editor providers),
validated before anything takes effect and projected onto the workbench's
own registries: plugin themes and file icon themes are chosen in
Settings › Appearance and Quick Switch, plugin shortcuts are edited in
Settings › Keymap, plugin problems are grouped in Settings › Inspections.
- Capabilities with risk levels and consent at install, pinned `process:`
programs, secrets in the OS keychain.
- Runtime: one thread per active plugin, fuel/time/memory budgets, soft and
hard deadlines on the editing path, cancellation, crash backoff, idle
reclaim, a precompiled-component cache; remote projects run code plugins on
`openidea-server`.
- Web views and custom editors with a sandboxed page, a document bridge
joined to the text editor's undo history, and split or preview layouts.
- Distribution: signed `.oiplugin` packages, a static marketplace index with
revocation, versioned installs with rollback, install from a `.zip` or a
folder. The release workflow signs and publishes the official plugins and
their index, which released builds use as the default marketplace.
- Official plugins: String Tools, Key Promoter, Git Toolbox, AI Completion,
Checkstyle, MyBatis Navigator, CSV Editor, Solidity, Material Icons, Harbor
Night, Excalidraw, Graphviz, Regex Tester, License Header.

On macOS, with an editable element focused and an input method active, WebKit can deliver a tap as pointerup then pointerdown, so drag trackers saw every later pointermove as a held button: one tap plus a pointer move started a phantom drag (file drag label, tab detach, tool window move) and the next tap dropped it. A drag now starts only from a move with the primary button down, a move without it cancels the press, and late button-less moves after a drag started are ignored so the drop is kept. Resizers, dialog drag/resize, pan and the review gutter end instead; the Project view also listens for pointercancel.

Dragging a tab showed no floating copy: the ghost cloned the tab's classes, and .tab { position: relative } loaded after .ghost { position: fixed }. The ghost is now positioned inline, and a tab dragged within its strip stays as an empty slot the other tabs move around; the insertion line for tabs from another strip is drawn inside the edge tabs so the scroller doesn't clip it. A terminal group is now a drop target like an editor pane: the middle joins the group, an edge splits off a new group (dropZoneAt moves to ui and is shared).

Conflicts left by stash pop or an automatic stash now get the same editor banner (File has unresolved merge conflicts, Resolve conflicts…) as merge conflicts. Complete conflict markers are reported as errors in every language and listed in Problems (severity under Settings › Editor › Inspections › Version Control). The toolbar shows Resolve/Continue and Abort next to the branch while conflicts or an interrupted operation exist, and the Commit view and Branches popup offer Resolve Conflicts even when no operation is in progress.

The result pane starts from the base and every change, conflicting or not, gets Accept / Ignore next to its side; accepting one side of a conflict still lets the other side be appended, and the modifier key resolves using that side directly. Adds Resolve Simple Conflicts (word-level), Apply Non-Conflicting Changes from the left, right or both (optionally on opening), Revert Conflict Resolution, Accept Yours / Accept Theirs / Cancel / Apply, Compare Contents between any two versions, and undo back to the conflicted state. CRLF and UTF-16 files are written back exactly, deleted sides and binary files are handled, and the commands are registered as merge.* actions.

In Preview only the editor is display:none and the preview only followed it in the split layout, so Structure's Autoscroll to Source moved a hidden caret and Autoscroll from Source never saw the preview scroll. - List rows are no longer text-selectable. Settings pages enable text selection
for their content, and the shared List inherited it, so dragging or ⌘A
highlighted every row.
- An agent missing from PATH is shown as a muted row with a small "Not found"
label instead of an orange warning badge; a custom executable gets an accent
"Custom" label.
- The details header puts the status (with a status dot) and the launch command
on one line.
- Reset only appears when a custom executable is set.
- The sign-in hint gets its own "Sign in" heading.
- The list/details frame sizes to its content instead of filling the page.
Tab switches and mode toggles unmount MarkdownPreview, whose only
scroll state was the DOM scrollTop; Preview Only started over at the
top. Record the preview's own scrollTop in the per-path live markdown
store and restore it on mount (split mode keeps its editor-driven
sync).
JSP files had no highlighting and showed a `?` icon; the HTML mode left directives, scriptlets, JSP comments and EL as plain text and flagged `<c:out/>` / `<jsp:include/>` as unclosed elements.
- A JSP grammar layer (comments, directives, scriptlets, expressions, declarations, EL) with HTML and Java overlays, so markup split by JSP elements still nests and braces match across scriptlets.
- EL as its own grammar top: member/index/method calls, namespaced functions, keyword operators, ternaries, lambdas and collection literals.
- Block comments use `<%-- --%>` in markup and `//` in scriptlets; JSP comments and scriptlets fold.
- `.jsp .jspf .jspx .jsph .tag .tagf .tagx` map to the JSP language with a file icon; `gen:jsp-grammar` regenerates the parser and a test checks it matches the grammar.

Hovering an editor tab with a long path showed a tooltip whose text ran past the bubble: tooltips never wrapped (`white-space: nowrap`) and were capped at 360px.
Tooltip text now wraps inside the bubble, breaking long paths where needed, and the shortcut stays on one line next to it. The bubble grows up to 720px or the window width less 32px, so most paths still fit on one line. Short tooltips look as before (same size and line height), and newlines in tooltip text are still collapsed.

Ruby gets an ERB editor mode (HTML with embedded Ruby), Ruby / Rake / RSpec run configuration types, and a Settings › Languages & Frameworks › Ruby page for choosing the interpreter (Auto picks the `.ruby-version` / mise / asdf install, else `ruby` on PATH).
- Run: `.rb` scripts run from the editor context menu, `_spec.rb` / `_test.rb` files narrow an RSpec or Rake (`SPEC=` / `TEST=`) configuration, and Rakefile tasks are detected; Rake and RSpec go through `bundle exec` when the project has a Gemfile. The chosen interpreter's `ruby`, `bundle`, `rake` and `rspec` are used and its bin directory is put on PATH.
- Configuration forms rebuild from a raw command line keeping option values with their options (`--format documentation`, `-I lib`), and a new Ruby configuration opens in the Ruby form with the script still to fill in.
- External Libraries lists the Ruby standard library and the bundle's gems, including those Bundler installs inside the project (`vendor/bundle`).
- Ruby is part of the frontend settings defaults and normalization, so the selected interpreter survives a settings round-trip.

Root cause: Cmd/Ctrl+A in the Run console fell through to the browser and selected the whole window, and copying only saw the rows the virtualizer had mounted. Search Everywhere and Recent Files lists now support multi-selection: Shift+Up/Down and Shift+click extend a range from the anchor, Cmd/Ctrl+click toggles a row, and Enter opens every selected file, symbol or text result in list order, leaving focus on the lead row. Actions in a mixed selection are skipped; a single selection behaves as before. Selection resets when the query or tab changes.
The row-selection model used by Find in Files moves to src/ui so the shared List can opt into modifier selection.
Fixes#647
Find Usages mixed reads and writes of a Java field, including Lombok getter and setter calls, because jdtls has no read/write classification in its references. The usages popup and Find window now have Read and Write toggles. Read-write accesses stay visible in either mode and unclassified results are kept.
Classification comes from a jdtls extension in `plugins/java-usages`, embedded as a jar and installed beside the other bundles. The checked-in jar was rebuilt from source with ECJ and matches byte for byte. Any extension failure falls back to standard references, so a jdtls upgrade can lose the filter but not Find Usages; rebuilding the jar on an upgrade is manual and described in the plugin README. Older installed jars are removed. Other languages keep their plain result count.

Find in Files, Replace in Files and Search Everywhere have no window title bar, so they could not be moved off the editor underneath. The tree followed the lead row by index, so expanding or collapsing a folder above the selection shifted the index and scrolled back to the selected row. It now scrolls when the lead changes. Add Shift+left-click as a way to close editor tabs. The tab strip gets a closeOnShiftClick option, enabled for the editor area only, so tool window tabs such as Run and Terminal still select on Shift+click. Keyboard activation with Shift held still selects, non-closable tabs still select, and Shift+click does not start a tab drag.

Right-clicking the terminal did not focus it, and closing any context menu sent focus to the editor. Popup recorded the element to restore in an effect, after Menu had already focused its first item, so it restored the menu item; focus then fell to the body and the workbench fallback focused the editor.
Popup now records the focused element while rendering, and the terminal takes focus when its context menu opens. Enter after the menu closes goes to the shell. This covers every context menu: focus returns to what held it before the menu opened.

Projects now open with a user-owned trust decision. The prompt offers Preview in Restricted Mode, Don't Open and Trust Project, with an optional trusted parent folder; preview is the default focus so Enter never grants trust.
Restricted projects keep browsing, editing, saving, search and highlighting. Project-controlled execution is denied by default in the backend: run, debug, build, tools, language servers, plugins and Git commands that could honour repository configuration. Trusting a project enables those paths without reopening it, and decisions can be revoked in Settings.
Terminals stay available when the user opens one, without project shell settings, environment or virtualenv activation. A shell prompt that runs git in the folder can still honour the repository's core.fsmonitor.

Markdown layout controls occupied a permanent bordered popup over the document.
- Move them into the editor tab strip with layout icons. When tabs are hidden, including Distraction Free Mode, show one floating toolbar that appears on mouse activity and fades after inactivity.
- Use the same floating toolbar for the HTML browser controls.
- Keep keyboard access: hold the toolbar while focused, return focus on Escape, and respect reduced motion. Add theme tokens with their import, template and reference entries.
Find in Files from the keyboard ignored the selected folder and reused the saved scope; only the context menu passed a directory.
Focused trees now publish the selected folder, or a file's parent, as an action context, and Find and Replace in Files use it when no explicit directory is given. This covers the Project view, Commit and Changes, Bookmarks and Scratches. Group rows and editor focus keep the previous behaviour.
Fixes#526
Project rows only showed generic folder and filename icons, so JVM modules, packages and declarations looked alike.
Rows now show Maven and Gradle project and module icons, packages, Spring configuration and Boot application classes, runnable classes, test classes, Java and Kotlin declaration types, and generated, compiled and javadoc output folders. Editor tabs, Goto File and Recent Files use the same resolver. Types come from a bounded syntax parse of visible files, served locally and over remote RPC.
Spring stereotypes keep their ordinary type icons, and .class files stay binary.

Replaces the Pull Requests tool window with a full review workflow on top of gh's authentication.
- List with search, quick filters and paging; a tab per pull request and a New Pull Request tab.
- Details: commit picker, changes tree with viewed state, CI and reviewer status, merge, close and reopen.
- Timeline editor: comments, review threads, reactions and suggested changes.
- Review in the diff viewer and, for the checked-out branch, in the editor (review mode).
- New generic vcs extension points: registerDiffViewerProvider, lineInlays, reviewGutter, branch widget extensions; new vcs_merge_base and gh_api commands.
- CSP: img-src allows https://avatars.githubusercontent.com for avatars.
Fixed while testing against a real repository: remotes behind an SSH host alias, mergeability stuck on UNKNOWN, Apply Locally staying disabled after a checkout, relative links navigating the app's page, and review inlays wider than the pane.

The Project view kept its widest row only until the rows changed, so expanding an unrelated folder while the wide row was out of the virtual window shrank the scroll range and moved the view back to the left edge. Row widths are now kept by row key, and a width goes away only when its row is removed or collapsed, or is measured narrower.

Project view rows were locked to the pane width, so deeply nested files and long names were clipped with no way to read the rest. Rows now size to their content and the view scrolls horizontally.
Rows are virtualised, so the scroll range keeps the widest row until the rows change. Otherwise scrolling past a wide row would remove the scrollbar and reset the horizontal position. Other trees opt out and keep clipping long labels.

Services followed configuration detection order, so frequently used services could not be kept together. Services can now be dragged before or after a sibling, with an insertion indicator and edge scrolling, or moved with Move Up/Down from the toolbar and context menu.
The order is stored per project location and type, separately from configuration definitions. New configurations append, windows stay in sync, and a failed save keeps the order for the session with a warning. Sorting in Tree is opt-in, so other trees are unchanged.

Agents can report model ids with nested provider paths, which made long rows that lost their provider context. The model picker now shows the short name under a provider heading with the remaining path as detail. Searchable Select matches several tokens across label, detail and hidden keywords, with fuzzy matching, and keeps a heading while one of its items matches.
Select now has an explicit section option, separate from disabled, so a heading can never be selected and a disabled option is not rendered as a heading. Existing section rows in provider options and Find in Files scopes use it. Keyboard navigation skips headings in filtered lists.

On Windows and Linux, Ctrl+C in the Run/Debug consoles and other DOM output views did nothing because no handler copied the selection. Each output view (Run and Debug consoles, Build output and message detail, Git console, database output, Docker logs) now copies its own selection on Ctrl+C / Ctrl+Insert (Cmd+C on macOS) through a shared helper, leaving views with their own copy handling (database grid, Problems) untouched. In terminals, Ctrl+C copies a selection on Windows and Linux and otherwise interrupts; on macOS it always interrupts. The console menu shows the host's copy shortcut.

Git Log ref labels use an outlined tag glyph in the ref colour instead of a solid flag; log rows are 26px with wider graph lanes and larger nodes. With Highlight › Current Branch on, commits outside HEAD are dimmed instead of the current branch being tinted. Excluded folders in the project tree get a tinted row background (Tree gains an optional rowClassName). The favorite star is a rounder shape, and the filled one has no separate outline stroke.
The plain run glyph renders at 12px and the other gutter icons (run-all, run status badges, inheritance markers, HTTP request markers) at 14px through a shared gutterIconMarkup, so they look the same size. Run, Docker, HTTP, Spring HTTP and inheritance markers use it, and marker boxes are 14px to match the gutter column instead of overflowing it at 16px.
The database tool window can connect to Microsoft SQL Server (tiberius over rustls with a bb8 pool): browse schema objects, edit table data, run queries and view plans; SQL Server dialect, object dialogs and icons in the UI.
Values are rendered by column type: exact decimal/numeric, money with four decimals, tinyint, uniqueidentifier, date/time/datetime/datetime2/smalldatetime/datetimeoffset in ISO form, xml and binary. Multi-statement edits roll back on any failure and discard the connection rather than returning it to the pool mid-transaction; connect-time errors (login, database) are reported; result pagination reports more rows; cancelling a query stops reading and drops the stream. The sqlx drivers keep the shared with_pool! path.

The font pickers never read the installed fonts: they probed a hard-coded list of ~30 names with canvas width checks, so anything outside the list never appeared and the monospaced filter changed nothing. A new ide-fonts crate asks the platform font system for families and their fixed-pitch flag (CoreText on macOS, DirectWrite on Windows, fc-list on Linux/BSD), exposed as system_font_families (spawn_blocking, cached). Every font picker — editor font and fallback, terminal font and fallback, UI custom font — uses one FontSelect with prefix type-ahead, a real monospaced filter, and keeps an uninstalled selection visible.

Every JVM the IDE starts on Windows now gets the console encoding: java gets -Dfile.encoding alongside the std* properties, build tools and their forks get JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS (std* only) with the IDE's own 'Picked up JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS' line filtered, shell command lines are recognised by their first word, and java-debug launches get the matching vmArgs. Hard-coded UI text, titles and aria-labels in about 110 components (Git panels, hierarchy, pull requests, dialogs, settings, welcome) now go through tx; spliced fragments became whole sentences (fileCount, noneFoundLabel, hierarchyTitle) and pull request states use keyed messages. 225 zh entries added, stale fragment entries removed.
Also: tx used as a tag without interpolations (tx`No checks`) now looks the text up exactly instead of as a template, so it is translated like tx("No checks"); the text-catalog test checks such tags as plain literals. Check and test counts reuse the existing "{count} passed" / "{failed} failing" entries.

* feat(editor): Drag tabs and files between split panes
HTML5 drag and drop never reaches the webview while native file drop is
enabled, so tab, project-file and changelist drags did nothing. They now
run on pointer events:
- Drag an editor tab onto another pane, or onto a pane's edge to split it.
- Drag files from the Project view into an editor pane (center opens them
there, an edge opens them in a new split).
- Drag files between changelists in the Commit view.
- "Drag-and-drop with Alt pressed only" applies to tabs and stripe buttons.
* fix(lsp): Deliver server settings and start servers on a supported JDK
- workspace/configuration answers a server's own section (basedpyright)
from its settings block; basedpyright runs in "standard" mode and keeps
auto search paths on, so `src/` layouts resolve from `tests/`.
- jdtls: formatting follows the editor indent, calls complete without
guessed arguments, and JDK internals stay out of completion.
- `max-java` in a language server config picks an installed JDK no newer
than that (kotlin-language-server fails on JDK 25).
- Server initialization may take up to 5 minutes (first Gradle import).
- `lsp_resend_diagnostics` re-emits stored diagnostics after a reload.
- Spelling only checks declared names (not called methods like
`substring`) and accepts plurals of known software terms.
* feat(editor): Quick fixes, completion and navigation while typing
Quick fixes
- Errors get a red quick-fix bulb; Apply Quick Fix (⌥⇧↵) fixes the most
severe problem at the caret, and the error hover offers the fix directly.
- Code generated by a code action is re-indented to the file's style.
- Python: Implement abstract methods (⌃I or the bulb) from the bases.
- Duplicate code actions are listed once.
Completion
- Overloads sharing a name, and a name importable from several modules,
are no longer merged into one entry.
- Auto-import entries show the module they import from.
- Call snippets without a stop (`new ArrayList<>()`) leave the caret inside
the parentheses with parameter info, or past them when nothing takes
arguments; parameter info also opens after server call snippets.
- The selected item is resolved ahead of acceptance, so its auto-import
is applied (rust-analyzer).
Navigation and diagnostics
- Language server requests wait for pending edits, so Go to Declaration
right after typing answers for the current text; an empty answer right
after an edit is retried while the server catches up.
- Diagnostics come back after a window reload; error underlines stay
visible under typo / unused highlighting.
- Implementation gutter markers no longer refresh in a loop while the
server reports progress.
- A missing alternative server no longer shows as a server error.
* chore(lint): Skip agent worktrees under .claude
* fix(editor): Skip cancelled LSP requests and limit generated-code reformat
- Requests cancelled while waiting for pending edits are not sent.
- Code generated by an action is reformatted per changed hunk, so an added
import doesn't reformat the code between it and the generated lines.
- A long busy spell caused by a settle refresh re-runs it only once.
- Files dropped on a file row of another changelist move to that changelist.
- Python Implement methods: a nested class without bases ends the lookup,
class bodies continue through unindented string lines, and
`@abstractproperty` stubs become `@property`.
- Resend diagnostics goes through the host ops, and custom servers get
`max_java`.
* fix(editor): Rank the exact type first in Java constructor completion
jdtls appends the call or body to filterText (`String(${0})`); matching
on the label instead lets typing `String` rank `String` above
`StringBuilder` and the other types sharing its sort text.
* fix(editor): List identical completion items once
kotlin-language-server repeats a class once per classpath entry declaring
it, so `String()` and `String` were listed three times each.
* fix(editor): Keep the internal cancellation message out of the UI text catalog
Adds gutter markers for type hierarchies: ↓ "Is implemented / Has subclasses / Is overridden" on types and methods with implementations, ↑ "Implements / Overrides method in X" on methods that implement or override a supertype method. One target navigates, several open the Choose Implementation popup. Settings › Editor › General › Gutter Icons gets two toggles.
Markers come from the language server: a new batched `lsp_implementations` command (up to 4 concurrent, cancellable, sharing the goto query path) for ↓, and the Super Method lookup for ↑, which now prefers the overload with matching parameters (also fixes ⌘U on overloads). Only declarations near the viewport are queried, debounced, cached per document version and cancelled when superseded. Works for any server with implementation / type hierarchy support; servers without type hierarchy show ↓ only.

WebKit sends the Enter (or Space) that commits a candidate after compositionend,
with isComposing already false and keyCode 229. Handlers that checked isComposing
alone ran it: dialogs confirmed and shortcuts fired while typing Chinese or

composition uses it.
