* perf(project-tree): measure row widths once per frame
The horizontal scroll range was measured in a layout effect on every render:
each pass forced layout, its setState re-rendered synchronously and measured
again, and the ResizeObserver was recreated each time, firing once more.
Expanding a 10k-entry folder went from ~26 ms to ~63 ms.
Keep one observer per tree and coalesce renders and resizes into a single
measurement on the next animation frame. Expanding is back to ~30 ms and
arrow-key p50 drops from 3.3 ms to 1.7 ms; the widths behave as before.
* perf(github): load the pull requests integration after start-up
Actions, the tool window and the timeline editor stay registered at start-up;
their implementations, the connection and review-mode tracking load on idle
or on first use. Takes ~60 KB gzip off the initial bundle.
* perf(templates): load Emmet when an HTML or stylesheet editor opens
The Emmet engine (~70 KB minified) was part of the initial bundle; it now loads
with the first editor that can expand abbreviations, or with Update Tag with Emmet.
* perf(search, run): load popups and Edit Configurations when first shown
Search Everywhere, Find in Files, the recent files/locations popups, File
Structure and the Run/Debug Configurations dialog were part of the initial
bundle although each only renders while open. `lazyWhen` mounts a lazy view
only while its condition holds; the idle prefetch still loads them right after
start-up, so opening one stays as fast.
* perf: load dialogs, the SQL console and diff views on first use
- Database dialogs, Assign Shortcut and the Logcat tool window load when shown.
- The SQL console extensions load with the first SQL editor
(`lazyEditorExtension` reconfigures the editor once they arrive).
- The changes tree loads the diff viewer when a file is selected, and
"Open Repository Log" loads the revision browser when run.
* perf: load plugin, debugger and project popups when first shown
The IntelliJ theme import, the debugger's popovers and dialogs and the title
bar's project popup now load when first opened. `lazyWhen` keeps a view
mounted once shown, so its own open/closed handling is unchanged.
* perf(angular): parse only text with Angular syntax as Angular
Every text node of a template got its own nested Angular parse, including
the whitespace between tags, which is most of them. Text without a `{`, `}`
or `@` holds no interpolation or block, so it stays HTML text. A full parse
of a 12k-line template takes about a fifth less work.
* perf(angular): reuse nested trees of unchanged text and attributes
An edit makes the mixed parser recreate many text and attribute nodes it
does not keep: the document's own text and the nodes up to the viewport. It
reuses nested trees only of nodes it kept, so each of those was parsed again
as Angular on every keystroke (~170 nested parses per key in a 12k-line
template). Their parse depends only on their text, so the trees are now
remembered by text, up to about 2M characters.
Typing in the middle of a 12k-line template: main thread per key 57 -> 22 ms,
p50 latency 30 -> 19.5 ms, no long tasks.
* perf: budget typing in a large Angular template
* perf: measure code completion over a 2,000-item list
The harness's probe can answer completion with generated items through the
command route; language server requests go through a route when one is
installed, not only under Tauri. The scenario opens the popup by typing,
narrows it letter by letter and moves the selection, with budgets for each.
* perf(run): show a flood of console output at most every 50 ms
While a process printed thousands of lines a second, the Run console
appended, re-rendered and laid out on every frame, so typing in an editor
meanwhile missed the next frame 35% of the time. A line after a quiet spell
still shows on the next frame; a flood now updates the console at ~20 Hz,
and typing during it misses 2-5% (p50 16 -> 9.7 ms) with the output done as
fast as before.
The performance harness gets a scenario for it: 50,000 log lines at 200 a
frame (a dev and perf build action, run.sampleOutput) while typing.
* perf(vcs): keep Git Log rows from re-rendering on every selection change
Commit rows were memoized but received a new Set and new closures on every
render, so moving the selection re-rendered every visible row, and each row
built a new Intl.DateTimeFormat for its date. Rows now get stable handlers and
shared remote-name sets, and date formatting reuses cached formatters.
* perf: measure the Git Log and splitter dragging
gitLog shows 20k generated commits served page by page through a fake vcs_log,
walks the selection with the arrow keys and wheel-scrolls the list.
resizePanels drags the side and bottom splitters with an editor, the Project
tree and the Log open. The perf probe's fake backends can now be combined.
* perf: translate the sample output action and keep fake completion details out of the text catalog
* fix(run): keep flushing console output when the window hides mid-wait
* test(e2e): ignore the TODO index's scan when checking the Find in Files query
Pest test() and it() calls and describe() blocks get gutter Run and Debug,
nested by describe and filtered by the names Pest prints (`outer` → it does
x, plus a data set suffix). Projects with vendor/bin/pest get a Pest test
configuration of the PHPUnit kind, pest commands are recognised, Pest's
pest_qn:// hints are read and test tree reruns filter Pest tests by name.
Stripe icon buttons were 28px with a 2px gap, plus an extra gap at each group boundary, and their 20px icons were drawn at 18px, off the pixel grid. Stripe buttons are now 30px and repeat at the title bar's height (40px, 32px compact), so the title bar's Settings button reads as the right stripe's first one; the empty drop slot after a group no longer adds a gap. Stripe, title bar and Run widget icons render at 20px.

Each page of the log recomputed hidden long edges by scanning every row once per

read. Long edges are now found in one pass over the rows, the unused store graph
is gone, and the next page is requested while a page of rows is still ahead so
fast scrolling doesn't reach the end before git answers. The commit list also
contains its layout, so rows entering while scrolling no longer relay out the

Stop flipped the session back to Run as soon as the direct child exited, but a shell, Maven or the debug adapter can exit while the application it started still holds its port, so the next Run failed with "port already in use". The console also went quiet on a debug Stop because the DAP session was disconnected before java-debug drained the program's output, and closing a window killed running programs with SIGKILL at once.
Run and Debug sessions now stay in a stopping state from the Stop press until the whole process group (or the debuggee's pid tree) is gone. As in IntelliJ IDEA, the first Stop only interrupts and waits, and a second Stop kills; the Stop button turns into Kill process meanwhile. A rerun or restart waits for the old process without a time limit, and the termination time limit setting now only bounds a configuration's stop command. Debug launches record the program pid from the adapter's process/processid event, signal its pid tree and keep the adapter attached until the program exits; closing a project also stops debug sessions under its root. Closing a window with running programs shows a Terminating panel with Kill process and closes once they are gone.

Quiet Go benchmarks print their measurement without a terminal pass event, so they stayed running and were shown as ignored when the run ended; repeated attempts (-count, -cpu) share a test path and were counted once. The parser now completes measured benchmarks when their package finishes (a failure at a later CPU setting still wins), maps CPU-suffixed and nested benchmark names back to the started test, and counts each new attempt while keeping a failed one failed.

* fix(run): use system python per OS and pytest templates, detect pixi envs
Gutter/context pytest configs on Windows used `python3`, which is not a
command there; fall back to `python` on Windows. Gutter-created pytest
configs now also inherit "Edit configuration templates... > pytest"
values via a template cache populated with the run configurations.
Pixi environments (`.pixi/envs/<env>`) are detected as the project's
Python: as run-configuration env (`PyEnv::Pixi`, tools via
`pixi run` or the env's own executables), as the project interpreter
for scripts/tests and the debugger, and as selectable SDKs, so the
interpreter picked in the IDE feeds completion.
Fixesl0ng-ai/openidea#1885
* fix(run): drop the pytest template's own target in gutter configs
testConfigFor always appends the gutter file, so a target stored on the
template would run twice (template target plus the file). The gutter file is
the target. Also corrects pixi_env's doc comment to the implemented name
order.
A direct debug launch had no Run session to carry the app's HTTP port, so
its Services node only showed Debugging/Starting. The debugger now parses
the same embedded web server startup line as Run, publishes the port on
DebugServiceSession, and the node shows :port as soon as the app announces
it, exactly like a running service (#1718).

Compiler output in the Build tool window now gets the same clickable
file locations as the run console: Maven's `path:[line, col]` errors,
`path:line:col` diagnostics and URLs open the file (or the browser)
when clicked, resolving against the directory of the step that printed
the line (reactor modules run in their own), then the project root
and a name search.

A run target can be a Docker image or a Compose service: the configuration runs as a local docker run --rm / docker compose run --rm with the project bind-mounted, so the console, PTY, stdin, Stop and test parsers work unchanged. Only daemons on this machine are accepted; on Linux the container runs as the project folder's owner; Stop runs docker stop with the same docker CLI. Debugging, coverage and profiling stay on this machine. Refs #1083 (step A1).

php-debug had no launch template: the generic one sent the configuration's command as the program, so artisan serve failed or ran the PHP binary as a script, and PHPUnit skipped breakpoints unless php.ini enabled Xdebug's debug mode. The template runs the script on the PHP the command names or the one from Settings, enables debug mode with -d options on the port php-debug picks, and PHP files and php scripts become debuggable. php-debug returns to the configuration form's Debug adapter list.
A taken port now says which port is in use instead of Node's EADDRINUSE text; a listening PHP Remote Debug session shows "Listening for Xdebug on port N" instead of "Running…"; clearing the only field of a debug-only remote type keeps the form and shows the field as required; php-debug leaves the generic Debug adapter list until it has a launch template (#1623).

PHP files and composer.json of a Composer project show a banner when vendor/autoload.php is missing or a package of composer.lock is not installed at its locked version (packages-dev only unless the install used --no-dev; config.vendor-dir honoured). Install runs composer install in the Run tool window with the PHP of Settings › PHP first on PATH; Ignore hides it until the project is reopened. Rechecked when composer.json, composer.lock or vendor change; not shown in an untrusted project. A Composer Install action does the same.
Running a .php file or a #!/usr/bin/env php script used the PATH php: the file producer resolves tools on PATH and the settings pass only replaces a bare php command. A new sdk_php_effective command returns the configured interpreter (like sdk_python_effective) and the producer prefers it; the not-found text points to the PHP settings page.

Rerunning a run tab launched the configuration snapshot taken when the tab first ran, so edits from Edit Configurations were ignored until the tab was closed. Every rerun path (Run tool window, Services, the exit notification, Debug from a run tab, Rerun Failed Tests / selected tests, Update Application's restart) now uses the saved configuration with the same id, falling back to the snapshot when it was deleted or never saved. Services also drops a configuration deleted after it ran once its run has ended; ad-hoc runs (build tasks, external tools) still show.

Parsing Minitest's console output needs -v, gives no file or line for passing tests and depends on how output interleaves. Ruby test runs (ruby and rake test configurations in the console) now load a small Minitest reporter through RUBYLIB/RUBYOPT that prints one record per test on stdout with its status, time, failure text and real file and line. The console strips the records and the test tree is built from them, so jump to source gets exact locations; the text parser stays as the fallback. It works on Minitest 5 and 6 (6 no longer loads plugins on its own, so a small hook registers the reporter once Minitest is loaded).

Ruby test runs showed only console text: there was no Ruby output parser and test_*.rb was not a test file. A Minitest parser now builds the test tree (class, test, status, time, failure text) from verbose output (-v / TESTOPTS=-v), test_*.rb counts as a test file, jump to source finds the class and then its def, and the gutter gets a run action per test method (coloured by the last result) and per test class and module that holds test classes; one test, class or module runs with --name=....
The streaming Find in Files helper the jump to source uses moved from the search feature to src/platform, so the run feature doesn't import another feature.

A Ruby file run from the context menu had no project load path, so require "foo" for lib/foo.rb failed: Sources roots are now passed as -I<root>. Folders under a test root get Run Tests in '<dir>': RSpec on the folder, rake test with TEST=<globs> (two comma-separated globs, since Rake splits TEST at commas), or a detected minitest configuration that loads every *_test.rb / test_*.rb under the folder when the project has neither.

The Debug console had no Find: Cmd-F did nothing there, in the Debug tool window and in Services' debug output alike. It now searches the whole buffer (Match Case / Words / Regex) with the n/m counter, highlights every match with the current one on its own background, scrolls it into view, and offers the Run console's context menu (Copy, Select All, Copy All, Find…, Clear All).
The find matching and find bar moved from the Run console into src/ui (consoleFind.ts, ConsoleFindBar.tsx) and are shared by both consoles; Enter on one of the bar's buttons activates it instead of jumping to the next match.

A Ruby script configuration pre-fills Launcher with the interpreter path. Ticking Run with Bundler kept it and added `exec ruby`, so the run became `/…/bin/ruby exec ruby …` and failed with LoadError. A launcher that is another Ruby tool of the same interpreter (ruby, bundle, rake, rspec) now means its sibling in that directory; a launcher of the user's own (binstub, spring) is kept. The rake and RSpec types share the same helper.

* perf(vfs): list directories off the main thread and reuse the repository lookup
Opening a folder on a network share (\\wsl.localhost\<distro>\...) is slow
because every listing ran on the main thread and walked up to the repository
root and ran a repository discovery again.
- fs_read_dir runs on the blocking pool.
- GitignoreStack::cached keeps the repository root and the repo-level rules
for a few seconds. An edit of .git/info/exclude is still seen at once (its
mtime and size are checked) and every .gitignore / .ignore is read fresh.
Refs #916
* feat(remote): open WSL projects through a WSL transport
A folder of a WSL distro (\\wsl.localhost\<distro>\... or \\wsl$\...) now opens
as a remote project whose openidea-server runs inside the distro, so the
terminal, SDK discovery, run, language servers and git are native Linux.
- RemoteTarget (ssh | wsl) replaces the SSH configuration id in the remote
launch, connection, session and recents; old recents are read as SSH and a
WSL target never inherits the legacy trust migration.
- remote_wsl: probe the distro, stream the server into ~/.openidea/server and
start it with `wsl.exe -d <distro> --exec <bin> --stdio`. Distro names are
validated and every command goes through --exec with positional arguments.
- wsl_distros / wsl_resolve commands; File > Open, the CLI and recents route
WSL folders to the distro and focus the window that already has them.
- Remote Development dialog: SSH/WSL choice with the detected distros; the
status bar shows `WSL: <distro>` / `SSH: <host>`.
- ide-jsonrpc: skip the NUL left at the start of a line by UTF-16 output of
wsl.exe, which made the first message of the server disappear.
Not run on Windows yet: only a stand-in for wsl.exe is tested.

* style(run): format run types
* fix: regenerate bindings and drop untranslated WSL catalog entry
* test(i18n): list WSL as an untranslated product name
* fix(run): pick build wrappers and shell quoting by the execution host
A remote window runs commands on its Linux or macOS server, so a Windows
desktop no longer selects gradlew.bat, mvnw.cmd or Windows quoting for it.
* fix(welcome): open legacy WSL UNC recents and sessions through the distro
Recents and the restored session called the local openProject for a
\\wsl.localhost folder saved before WSL projects, which fails with OS
error 123. They now resolve it like the other entry points.
* fix(windows): keep WSL files out of remote project launches
path_launch tested the WSL share before is_dir, so a first-instance CLI
launch with a WSL file opened a remote project instead of LightEdit.
* fix(remote): run-command OS comes from the remote host, not an assumption
The server's OS was dropped after connect, so a restored session had none and
isWindows() assumed every remote host is Unix. Keep it on the connection and
the session, and resolve it through hostOs().

Dart projects that depend on the Flutter SDK were debugged through
`dart debug_adapter`, which cannot start a program importing dart:ui and has no
hot reload. A session now uses `flutter debug_adapter` when the program's or the
working directory's pubspec.yaml depends on the Flutter SDK, or when an attach
configuration asks for it (add-to-app: vm-service-uri and device map to the
adapter's attach arguments). Hot Reload and Hot Restart are sent over DAP and
appear in the toolbar of Dart sessions. Dart files also get a debug configuration.

Debug session tabs had no close button, and ending a session only marked it
terminated, so every session stayed in the strip and Cmd+W fell through to hiding

session, its children and its console are dropped and the tab on the left is
selected.

Configurations created for a main class, and the Spring Boot applications
detected in a module, set their working directory to the module directory.
A relative path in the VM options (such as --module-path=app/server/target/dependency)
then resolved against the module and the JVM failed to start. They now leave the
working directory empty, so the process starts in the project root, which is what
an empty working directory means elsewhere. The module is still stored separately
and keeps supplying the classpath and the debugger's sources.

Closing a window, closing or switching a project, or quitting while Run/Debug sessions are still running now asks before terminating them (Terminate / Cancel / Don't ask again, sharing run.confirmTerminate with the Run tab prompt). Run publishes its live sessions through a RunningProcessesProvider contribution, so the close guard collects them without importing the run feature; the prompt comes before the unsaved-changes step so cancelling never discards edits.

Opening a folder of independent Gradle builds selected only the first build. Link Gradle Projects… (pick a build's settings or build file) and Unlink on a build's root let an ordinary project window manage several independent builds without changing their scripts. The build model holds a list of Gradle builds; each keeps its own wrapper, working directory, environment, task routing and sync cache, keyed by the owning build directory. The links persist in the project's Gradle settings (linkedProjects); unlinking leaves files and saved run configurations alone. Existing includeBuild support is unchanged, and an explicitly linked build takes precedence over a composite that also includes it. Workspace windows keep Link/Unlink disabled.

A file whose main is in a later class failed with "can't find main(String[]) method in class: Parent", and the gutter Run of a second or nested class's main launched the first class. Such files now compile with the JDK's own `javac -g -d <class dir>` and run `java -cp <class dir> <main class>`; a main in the first class, and compact source files, still use the source launcher. Debug passes the JDWP agent through JDK_JAVA_OPTIONS, which only the java launcher reads.

TestNG's class-level @Test makes the class's public void methods tests; the scanner now recognizes them (excluding @Before*/@After*/@DataProvider/@Factory). Test results locate TestNG failures past org.testng frames and parse TestNG's comparison message. Refs #1368
Run or Debug from a Python file's context started it as a script
(`python src/tasks/cli.py`). A module of a package that imports relatively
then fails with "attempted relative import with no known parent package",
and the debugger stops on that exception.
A file with a relative import (`from .x import y`, `from . import x`) now
runs as `python -m <package>.<module>` from the folder its top package sits
in: the last `src` of its path, else the Python project's folder. A
package's `__main__.py` runs as the package. The project's interpreter is
kept (a relative venv path is adjusted to the new working directory), and
the debugger launches it with debugpy's `module`. Files without relative
imports run as scripts as before.

The test-events and delegated-run init scripts were written to a path built from the desktop's temporary directory, which doesn't exist on a remote host. A new `run_gradle_init_script` command writes a script under the host's own temporary directory, named by its content, and returns the path Gradle reads it from.
The Find / Replace in Files popup gets the popup surface and spacing,
the match count and empty states ("Clear option(s)"), the footer with
"Open results in new tab", a resizable popup with a remembered results /
preview split, file mask suggestions from the project's file types
(new index_file_extensions), mnemonics and inline icons. Shortcuts are
spelled for the platform: Linux showed macOS glyphs in the popup, the
shared SearchField, the find bars and Search Everywhere. Replace keeps
its Preview diff.

Gradle prints only failed tests, so the live test tree only filled in
after the run from the XML reports, and stayed empty when the test task
was UP-TO-DATE and wrote no new reports.
Gradle test runs now get an init script that reports each test's start,
output, failure (with the stack trace), skip and finish as TeamCity
service messages and keeps test tasks from being UP-TO-DATE. The console
hides those lines; the JVM parser turns them into `[class, method]`
results, named as in the XML reports, and drops Gradle's own repeated
`Class > test() FAILED` lines. Tests the run already reported keep their
output instead of getting the report's copy appended. The TeamCity
message parsing moves out of the PHPUnit parser so both share it.

Run or Debug on a Python file started it as a script
(`python src/tasks/cli.py`), so a module of a package that imports
relatively (`from .models import TaskList`) always failed with
"attempted relative import with no known parent package".
A file with relative imports now runs as `python -m package.module`
from the directory above its top package (the enclosing directories
with `__init__.py`, read once and re-read when one is added or
removed), with a venv-relative interpreter resolved against the project
root. Files without relative imports still run as scripts.
Removing a project from the workspace left its traces in Services: its run sessions, temporary configurations, remembered runs and type groups that now said there were no configurations. While the same project stays open, the run feature now watches the workspace member list and, per removed member, stops and forgets its sessions, drops its temporary configurations, reloads the configurations, removes the added types left empty and clears its remembered runs.

A finished run session's tab keeps its configuration's own icon instead of the green run arrow (a failed exit still shows the error icon), and the run panel's toolbar gets a Debug button next to Rerun that starts the same configuration under the debugger (in Services, a debug session reruns its debugger launch).

Gradle's console names a test class by its simple name and a JUnit 5
method by its display name (`method()`), while its XML reports use the
qualified class and the method name. After a run the test tree showed
each class twice, counted the failure twice, and the report's copy of
the failing test had no source location.
Console results are now moved under the reported class (when the simple
name is unambiguous), Gradle method names drop the empty `()`, and the
report's stack frame is matched for Kotlin names with spaces and frames
behind a class loader prefix (`app//`).
The JVM run-target scanner only reads the file's own text, so a class like `class App extends AtomStarter {}`, whose superclass (in the project or a library JAR) declares `static main`, got no gutter Run, no Ctrl+Shift+R and no file-level Run, although the JVM launches it. Classes with an `extends` clause and no main of their own are now candidates: the superclass chain is walked through the language server's type hierarchy, each class supertype's source (file, decompiled or source-jar document) is checked for a static main, and the answer is cached per class and `extends` clause, so the gutter, Run from context, launch and debug agree. Interfaces are skipped (a static interface main is not inherited); negative answers are asked again when the server settles. `main(java.lang.String[] a)` is accepted as well.

Scroll containers set cursor: text, and the webview applies an element's cursor to its scrollbar, so scrollbars showed the I-beam. The containers now keep the arrow and the text inside them gets the I-beam: the editor (.cm-content instead of .cm-scroller, which also covers the diff and merge editors), the source preview, the Run, Build and Debugger consoles, the Git console, the Database output and the Services log.

Removing a temporary configuration in Edit Configurations only changed the dialog's draft; the reload after OK read it back from the saved temporary list. OK / Apply now drops removed temporaries from that list, keeps unedited ones temporary instead of saving every non-detected temporary configuration as a user configuration, and saves edited ones as before. Removing the last temporary configuration also cancels a pending rewrite of the list that could bring the removed entry back (the chooser's Delete had the same race).
Fixes#1162
Application / Spring Boot configurations found their module only from the main class, so the same class in two modules failed with "Cannot determine the module for main class", and the JVM was always the module's. The form now has JRE (the module's JDK or an installed JDK) and Use classpath of module (found by main class, or a project module, stored as RunConfig.module). Run configuration selects can load their options when shown.
Fixes#1153
Temporary run configurations were kept with what settings derived when they were made (absolute mvn, -s / -Dmaven.repo.local, JAVA_HOME), and never went through the backend again, so after a Maven home / settings file / JDK change they and gutter test runs narrowed from them still ran the old ones. They are now kept without derived values (run_without_derived) and get the current settings applied when the run list loads (run_apply_settings). Maven's settings file and local repository apply to every Maven configuration unless it sets them itself. Earlier stored entries are dropped once.

"Update classes and resources" / "Update resources" on a Tomcat configuration deploying the project's WAR artifact ran a full package build and re-exploded the archive. They now compile the WAR module incrementally through jdtls and copy only the changed classes and resources into WEB-INF/classes and changed web files (src/main/webapp) into the exploded deployment; Tomcat reloads the context, or HotSwap applies the classes when debugging. Falls back to rebuilding the WAR when a dependency module was compiled since the last update (its WEB-INF/lib jar would be stale), the deployment doesn't exist yet, or no Java language server is available. Redeploy still rebuilds the WAR.
Closes#970
The Run/Debug configuration popup lists the five configurations started last under "Recent", newest first, after the pinned ones and not repeated in their group. Starts are recorded from run and debug sessions (any executor, reruns included). Kept per project.

npm configurations get a "Node interpreter" field; the script and the package manager run on that node (its directory first on the PATH). Empty keeps the project's interpreter from Settings › Languages & Frameworks › Node.js. Saving drops the PATH settings derived before the choice, so a stale project PATH isn't kept.
