Java files in mixed Maven projects could not resolve Kotlin types from the same module or upstream reactor modules, because Kotlin compiler output never reached JDT's Java model.
A per-project bridge compiles saved Kotlin sources with the project's own Maven setup into private staging output (a bundled Maven extension redirects outputs and records each module's Kotlin compile result) and mounts the Kotlin classes as marked libraries through a bundled JDT command, leaving m2e/JRE containers and other entries untouched. The last successful snapshot stays mounted while rebuilding; a new one is published when every Kotlin target compiles, even if javac fails, so Java callers of a renamed or removed Kotlin API show their errors in the editor. Kotlin compile failures keep the previous API and are reported under the kotlin-bridge Problems source. Removing the last Kotlin file withdraws the libraries. Changes under build outputs and excluded directories never trigger a rebuild.
Part of #428
Run/Debug of a Maven module with Kotlin/Groovy/Scala sources rebuilt the module and its reactor dependencies with Maven before every launch, even when nothing had changed.
Each successful launch build now records a fingerprint of its inputs (sources and resource roots of the dependency closure, module and parent POMs, imported BOMs, wrapper/.mvn/settings/toolchains, JDK, command line and environment) together with an immutable snapshot of its outputs in the project cache. A later launch with the same fingerprint reuses the snapshot without running Maven; Run and Debug share it, application and test launches are kept apart. Inputs that cannot be resolved reliably (dynamic roots overridden by profiles or -D) always rebuild. A failed, cancelled or concurrently edited build never publishes a reusable record.
Superseded snapshots stay available while JVMs of the current session may still load classes and are removed when the project closes; snapshots left by earlier sessions and no longer referenced are cleaned on the first launch.
Fixes#530
Run/Debug of a Java-only module that depends on a Kotlin/Groovy/Scala module in the same reactor launched with stale classes or failed with Unresolved compilation problem, and a successful Maven build was still reported with the old JDT compile errors.
Root cause: the pre-launch external build only checked the launch module's own sources, and Maven shared target/classes with JDT autobuild.
Fix: walk the launch module's reactor dependency closure (transitive, test scope aware) for non-Java sources; when found, run Maven from the reactor root (-pl <module> -am clean compile, test-compile for test launches) and block the launch on failure or cancel with the Maven errors in the console. JDT autobuild is paused while Maven runs and restored afterwards, and the launch uses a per-launch snapshot of the closure's output so JDT cannot overwrite it. A successful Maven build no longer shows the stale JDT warning. Pure Java projects and Gradle keep their previous path; the debugger adapter choice still follows the launch module.
Verified on macOS with single- and multi-module Maven projects (new Kotlin values in Run and Debug, Kotlin error blocks the launch, cancel, pure Java does not invoke Maven). Editor type resolution for Kotlin in Java is handled separately.
Part of #428
Running Spring Boot main-class configurations had no Update action, and incremental Java builds did not publish edited resources to the running JVM. They now share the Update action, toolbar and build runner with Tomcat: resources go through the module's Maven or Gradle build and are published to the resolved runtime classpath, including Gradle's separate jdt.ls output directory. Class updates use scoped HotSwap when available and explain the restart requirement otherwise.
Both configuration types get "On 'Update' action" and "On frame deactivation" policies. A missing policy keeps the chooser and does no deactivation update. Focus tracking debounces external changes and prevents overlapping updates.
Verified on macOS with Maven, Gradle, Tomcat 10.1 and HotSwap. Windows and Linux focus detection were not run. On Linux a native GTK dialog can count as deactivation when no webview window is focused.
Fixes#580
A Tomcat run with a WAR from a nested Maven module failed with "The built WAR artifact does not exist": the artifact path query was evaluated for the reactor parent, not the selected module.
The build now resolves the selected POM's effective identity first, using the same options and environment as the build, and asks for that project's artifact. Custom outputs, .mvn settings and root modules are covered, Gradle WAR manifests are written as UTF-8, and Tomcat deployment errors now name the checked path.
Fixes#515
Builds and run configurations started a bare mvn / gradle through the app's own PATH, which can be minimal when the app isn't launched from a shell, so launchers installed by mise, asdf or Homebrew weren't found. Bare names now resolve through the configuration's PATH override or the IDE search path (login shell PATH plus version-manager shims) on every platform, for build processes and run configurations alike.

A module can activate its parents' profiles with -P, but the Maven model listed only the profiles declared in the module's own POM. Profiles are now collected from the POM and its ancestors (with their activeByDefault state).

When the build files changed since the last sync, the cached effective-POM plugins and resolved dependencies replaced what the POMs declare now, so a just-added dependency never appeared until Reload. The cache is now applied only when the build files are unchanged; a non-verbose cache still marks the model stale without discarding its data.

Adds Tomcat Server › Local run configurations for WAR applications: installation validation and version detection, Maven/Gradle WAR artifact discovery and build before launch, WAR file or exploded-directory deployment, context path and HTTP port, project JDK or a chosen JRE, VM options, environment variables and opening the browser.
Each configuration runs with its own CATALINA_BASE in the project cache (HTTP, shutdown and local JMX ports configured there); Stop requests a clean shutdown before the usual process timeout. Debug attaches the Java debugger over JDWP. Update Application (Cmd+F10) updates resources, classes and resources with HotSwap, redeploys or restarts the server. Configurations are grouped under Tomcat Server in the configuration tree and Services.
Not verified on a real Windows machine; command construction is unit tested.

Adds Settings › Build Tools › Gradle: Gradle JVM (defaults to the Project JDK), distribution (wrapper or local installation with its home) and Gradle user home, stored in the project or global settings.
Sync and Gradle tool-window tasks use the configured JVM, launcher and GRADLE_USER_HOME. Run configurations keep their own choices: one that uses the wrapper runs gradlew, one that runs plain `gradle` resolves it from the local installation, then the pinned toolchain, then PATH; an explicit JAVA_HOME in the configuration wins over Gradle JVM. Derived defaults are applied at launch and not saved into run configurations. New Gradle configurations start with the wrapper off when the project uses a local installation.
Fixes#232
On Chinese Windows the Maven tool window showed sync errors as mojibake: tool output was decoded as UTF-8, but while JVMs are told to write UTF-8, cmd.exe, batch launchers (mvn.cmd, gradlew.bat) and native tools write their diagnostics in the ANSI code page (GBK). ide_core::output_encoding::decode_tool_output keeps valid UTF-8 and decodes other lines in the system code page (GetACP). It is used wherever OpenIDEA shows output of tools it launches itself: Maven/Gradle sync and tasks, tool installers, SDK probes, Docker, coverage, environment setup, Cargo stderr for debugging, agent version probes and notebook kernel stderr. Run consoles and protocol streams keep their own encodings. 未在 Windows 实机验证。

As in IntelliJ IDEA, a root Maven project can be unlinked from the Maven tool window's context menu (Unlink Maven Projects, with confirmation) and linked again with the toolbar's Add Maven Projects (pick a pom.xml). Unlinked root POMs are stored in the project's Maven settings (unlinkedProjects). ide-host computes the unlinked roots and their modules once with ide-build and applies the same exclusion to the build model, Maven sync, project source roots, detected run configurations and the Java language server import (java.import.exclusions). The project's files stay visible in the Project view as plain files.

Only the JVM the IDE launched directly was told the console's output encoding, so forked JVMs (spring-boot:run, Surefire, bootRun, Gradle workers), debugger-launched JVMs and Build-window builds wrote GBK on Windows while the console decoded UTF-8. Every JVM the IDE starts on Windows now gets the console encoding: java gets -Dfile.encoding alongside the std* properties, build tools and their forks get JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS (std* only) with the IDE's own 'Picked up JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS' line filtered, shell command lines are recognised by their first word, and java-debug launches get the matching vmArgs. The Debug console now shares the Run console's ANSI parser. Encoding helpers moved to ide-core::output_encoding.

Fixes#117
Inside an AppImage, AppRun and the linuxdeploy GTK/GStreamer hooks point LD_LIBRARY_PATH, PATH, XDG_DATA_DIRS, GIO_MODULE_DIR, GTK_PATH, GST_PLUGIN_* … into the mounted image, and every child inherited them, so host programs loaded the image's older libraries (curl + bundled nghttp2 → symbol lookup error when installing Kotlin LSP). ide_core::process::prepare (formerly no_window) now gives children the host environment back: entries inside $APPDIR are dropped (a <NAME>_ORIG wins), emptied variables and the runtime's launch variables are removed, explicit call-site values are kept; the IDE process itself is unchanged. Covers all spawn sites that used no_window plus terminal/run PTYs, run configuration environments and stop commands, login-shell probes, attach ps/kill, docker PATH, tool search PATH and the Linux browser opener. No-op outside an AppImage. Not verified on a Linux AppImage.

Maven sync ran a plain `dependency:tree`, which drops the nodes Maven omits (conflict losers, duplicates), so there was no data to show where a conflict comes from.
Sync now runs `maven-dependency-plugin:3.8.1:tree -Dverbose` (the project's own plugin version when offline) and records omitted / conflictWith / managedFrom per node; omitted nodes stay out of the Maven tool window and External Libraries, and older caches are marked stale. The new Dependency Analyzer (Maven toolbar, module / Dependencies node menus, pom.xml menus, Find Action) lists a module's resolved artifacts or tree with conflict markers, search and scope filters, and every path to the selected artifact with its status. Exclude writes an `<exclusion>` into the declaring pom (module or in-project parent), keeping indentation and line endings, then reloads; Jump to Source and Copy Coordinates are on each path. Gradle is not covered yet.

- The IDE is a GUI-subsystem binary, so Windows allocated a fresh console
window for every console-subsystem child it started: one black window per
language server, per settings-driven restart, per debug adapter and per
toolchain probe, titled with the child's own path. Closing it killed the
child, which is how editing the language-server settings broke highlighting.
- Peer::spawn, the spawn point for every language server, wired stdio but never
passed CREATE_NO_WINDOW. The rustup-proxy probe, the DAP adapter, debugpy
probe, runInTerminal and cargo spawns, the SDK probes, the run-configuration
probes, the coverage exporter and tool diagnostics/downloads (curl, tar) had
the same gap, while git, cargo builds, gh, docker and run configurations
passed the flag inline — five copies of the magic constant, six subsystems
without it.
- Add ide_core::process::{CREATE_NO_WINDOW, hide_console_window} as the single
definition, route every spawn through it (tokio commands via as_std_mut()) and
fold the inline copies into it.
- Verified locally on Windows with a console-detached harness: a plain spawn
reports a visible console window (GetConsoleWindow + IsWindowVisible), the
patched Peer::spawn reports a console without a window. cargo check, cargo
clippy --all-targets and the affected test suites (249 tests) are green.

Review fixes for the Project JDK / Maven settings:
- jdtls gets the user settings.xml as java.configuration.maven.userSettings, so the
editor resolves dependencies through the same mirrors and servers as sync and builds.
- The configured local repository (else <localRepository> of the chosen settings.xml)
is where the static POM model looks for parent POMs / BOMs and where the Lombok
agent is looked for.
- Maven discovery finds mvn.cmd on PATH on Windows and the homes Maven Wrapper 3.3+
downloads (dists/<name>/<hash> without a nested folder).
- A Project JDK pointing at the JDK's bin directory is accepted.
- Detected run configurations reload when language settings change, so Maven and
Gradle runs use the new JDK, Maven home and options.
- Chinese text for the new settings.
The JDK was always picked automatically (JAVA_HOME, PATH, the usual install dirs, by the
module's Java version) and Maven was the project's mvnw or mvn on PATH, with no way to
override either. languages.java.jdk (Languages & Frameworks › Java › Project JDK) now sets
the default jdtls runtime, the JDK of Run/Debug and JAVA_HOME for Maven and Gradle;
languages.java.maven (Build Tools › Maven) sets the Maven home, -s and
-Dmaven.repo.local for sync, builds, tool-window goals and detected run configurations.
JDKs and Maven installations are detected for the pickers.

Use the Windows wrapper name for Maven, compare walked paths with `/`,
relax the own-process footprint floor, skip tests that assert Unix paths
or shells on Windows, and stop Git converting fixture line endings in CI.

The Gradle and Maven tests expected the Unix wrapper and command names, and
the canonical-root test uses Unix absolute paths. CI now reports every
failing test instead of stopping at the first few.
