The New Branch dialog refused any existing local name, so a branch could not be moved to a selected commit. When the name matches a local branch of the target repository, the dialog now offers an unchecked Overwrite existing branch option (git switch -C / git branch --force); the consent clears when the name changes, and Git's checkout checks keep the old tip and local changes if switching fails. New Branch from a Git Log commit also targets that commit's repository in a multi-repository project.

A plugin view declared with `location = "services"` (plugin API 1.3, `engines.openidea ^1.3`) shows its tree in the Services tool window, next to Docker and the run configurations. The nodes, the toolbar (acting on one selected node) and their events come from `view-provider`; `viewItem.context` menus give the nodes a right-click menu. The pane beside the tree comes from a new optional export, `service-provider.detail(view, key)` (worlds `plugin-services` / `services`), which returns typed tabs: a message, read-only text or a process log. The IDE switches tabs without calling the plugin.
For a log, the UI names only the node and tab (`plugin_service_log`); the host asks the plugin for the pane again and runs its program with the plugin's `process:` grant in the project root, with the arguments of the toggles that are on, streaming its output into the log pane Docker uses until it exits (the exit code is shown), the pane closes or the Services window is hidden. A cancelled request starts nothing, lines are cut at 16 KiB, and revoking the grant or cancelling kills the program and what it started. The log pane moves to `src/ui/LogPane` and drops output that arrives after its source was stopped. The Rust SDK gains `openidea_plugin::services` (`Services`, `Tab`, `Pane`, `ProcessLog`). All components are rebuilt for the WIT change.

Plugin API 1.3 adds an optional semantic-tokens-provider export (world plugin-semantic-tokens). A plugin declares the semantic-tokens kind under [[contributes.providers]] for any language, including ones it does not contribute, and returns single-line tokens with LSP token kinds and modifiers. The host asks it with the other editor providers (50 ms / 500 ms) when the editor requests semantic tokens and joins the result with the language server's: plugin tokens replace the server tokens they overlap, so the colour scheme styles them like any semantic token. Declaring the kind needs engines.openidea ^1.3.
API 1.2 shipped with 0.1.38, so wit/ and the SDK's copy, ENGINE_VERSION and both API_VERSION constants move to 1.3 and every shipped component is rebuilt. The SDK gains openidea_plugin::semantic_tokens, and register_plugin! accepts any combination of optional exports (providers, views, indexing, syntax, semantic_tokens) instead of a fixed list of pairs.
Plugin API 1.2 adds `ui.pick`, `ui.pick-many`, `ui.input`, `ui.confirm` and `views.reveal`. The dialogs show in the window whose command or event asked and block that call until the user answers; the wait is added to the call's deadline, so it doesn't use up the time budget. They need no capability and return `invalid` without a window (events without a client, rendering, editor providers). Prompts are withdrawn when the call is cancelled or the plugin stops, and reach remote windows through the dispatcher (`plugin_answer_prompt`). `views.reveal` brings one of the plugin's declared views to the front. The Rust SDK and its mock gain `pick`, `pick_many`, `input`, `confirm` and `reveal_view`. All components are rebuilt for the WIT change.

Plugin API 1.2 adds `ui.set-context(key, value)` and `ui.remove-context(key)`: a plugin sets `plugin.<id>.<key>` for `when` clauses, typed as `context-value` (flag, number or text), in the window the call came from or every window outside a command or event; a window's value wins over the global one. Keys are 1-64 of `A-Za-z0-9_-`, at most 100 per plugin, kept across window reloads and idle reclaim, dropped when the plugin stops or the window closes; remote windows get them through the dispatcher. The Rust SDK takes `impl Into<ContextValue>`. All components are rebuilt for the WIT change.

Plugin API 1.2 adds `invocation.selected-paths`: the files and folders a Project view or editor tab menu ran the command on, as absolute paths (the command's argument stays the first of them, so existing plugins see no change). A plugin can declare `[[contributes.menus]]` with `menu = "viewItem.context"` and `view = "<its view>"`. Right-clicking an item of that tree or list view lists the matching commands, each run with the item's key as argument; `when` sees `viewItem` (the key) and `viewItemKind` (the key up to its first `:`). Validation refuses the menu without `view`, with an undeclared or web view, `view` on another menu, and (new in API 1.2) a manifest whose engines.openidea still admits older IDEs.

The SVGs go through the existing sanitiser (16 KiB each), ship with the package, and show in Settings › Plugins (list rows and detail header) and the marketplace, whose index entries carry them; the IDE sanitises index icons again and drops unsafe ones.
IDEs before plugin API 1.2 refuse a manifest with `icon`, so Manifest::needs_api refuses one whose engines.openidea still admits them (check and install), keeping the index from offering such a package to older IDEs.

* feat(trust): let users add trusted folders from settings
The trusted-locations check already matches projects by path prefix, but
the only way to populate it was the "Trust projects in…" checkbox on the
first-open dialog — a folder could never be trusted ahead of time.
Add a project_trust_add_location command that canonicalizes the picked
directory, rejects non-directories, and deduplicates, plus an "Add
folder…" button on the Project Trust settings page backed by the native
directory picker.
Fixes#1743
* fix(trust): translate the trusted-location additions into Chinese
The zh source-text catalog must cover every literal UI text; the three
new strings in the trusted-locations settings page were missing.
* fix(build): scope Kotlin bridge to linked Maven modules
* fix(run): resolve nested Go modules for context runs
* fix(gradle): discover nested builds and select compatible JVMs
* fix(workspace): share project discovery and module ownership
* fix(run): keep root toolchains for nested modules and resolve them once per module
- Python run configurations of a nested module without its own virtualenv use the closest one up to the project root.
- Gradle builds and runs fall back to the JDK matching the project's Java version when the Gradle version is unknown.
- Module-local interpreters and toolchains are resolved lazily, once per owning module.
- Tests build expected paths per segment so they hold on Windows.
Plugin API 1.2 gains an optional document-indexer export (plugin-indexing world). A plugin returns per document the keys it defines and refers to, aliases between key prefixes and gutter markers; the host indexes a trusted project in cancellable background batches, keeps the project-wide graph, and answers Go to Declaration / Ctrl-click and multi-target gutter markers from memory without calling the plugin again. Edits and file changes invalidate the affected entries; reload, disable or a failing runtime drops the plugin's graph.
The interface is limited to cross-file associations: icons chosen by file content and embedded-language regions are separate concerns for later interfaces. The plugin navigation choosers' titles are translated.

project.find-files walked the whole tree on every call; MyBatis Navigator calls it from editor providers interrupted after 500 ms, so on a large project each call timed out, counted as a crash, and the plugin was stopped after three. The host now answers from the project index (VCS-ignored and hidden files left out, as in the walk) and only walks the disk when no index covers the root yet.
* fix(plugins): hand plugins paths in one form on Windows
Plugins got the project root, editor path, provider documents, code action edits, vcs-status roots and find-files results as D:\… while event paths from the UI use /, so Checkstyle could not find the project of a saved file. The host now converts every path it hands to plugins with ipc_path::to_ipc.
* fix(checkstyle): match native Windows report paths
* test(plugins): use workbench IPC paths in host fixtures
Two opens of one window could each find no current project and build a full project (index, language servers, watchers); the second replaced the first without closing it, leaving two jdtls on one workspace. open_project and open_light now hold a per-window lock from the check to the insert.
Plugins get three host calls in API 1.1: vcs.remotes (under vcs.read) lists the
repository's remotes, ui.copy-to-clipboard and ui.open-url act on the window that
invoked the plugin's command.
Remote URLs are returned without the user:password part they may carry, and the
two UI calls fail when there is no invoking window instead of reaching every window.

Opening a folder of independent Gradle builds selected only the first build. Link Gradle Projects… (pick a build's settings or build file) and Unlink on a build's root let an ordinary project window manage several independent builds without changing their scripts. The build model holds a list of Gradle builds; each keeps its own wrapper, working directory, environment, task routing and sync cache, keyed by the owning build directory. The links persist in the project's Gradle settings (linkedProjects); unlinking leaves files and saved run configurations alone. Existing includeBuild support is unchanged, and an explicitly linked build takes precedence over a composite that also includes it. Workspace windows keep Link/Unlink disabled.

On a fresh install, Settings › Plugins › Available showed no marketplace plugins until the user refreshed by hand: opening the page asked for the listing without a refresh, which only returned the cached index, and a first run has none. The listing now reads the index when none has been read yet; later opens keep using the index already read, and an explicit refresh reads it again.
SSH passwords and key passphrases, git HTTPS credentials, the HTTP proxy
password and data source passwords were kept in plaintext JSON files in
the app data directory. They now live in the OS credential store via
keyring 4 (macOS Keychain, Windows Credential Manager, Secret Service on
Linux); each file keeps only an index of keys under a per-directory id.
Files from older versions are moved key by key on first use, with a
.migrating sidecar so a failed or interrupted move retries without
duplicating credentials. Without a credential store (headless Linux)
the old file is still read but nothing new is written to disk; the
secret lasts for the session. New data sources no longer save their
password or SSH tunnel secret unless asked.
Also keeps the index path in SecretStore for global data sources and
runs their test against the in-memory store.

Opens each fixtures/ project through the ops the app's commands call and checks the source and test roots from its build file, the index, Search Everywhere / Go to Class / Go to Symbol answered from it and kept current as files come and go, and the Maven / Gradle model. Plugin tool windows that list code locations (routes, failed tests,
queries) had no way to take the user to file:line. A host import
`views.open-location(path, line, column)` opens a file inside the project
in an editor of the window the call came from, caret at the given line and
column (0-based, UTF-16). It needs `project.read` and refuses paths outside
the project; the event goes only to the calling window, as `open-terminal`
does. The Rust SDK exposes it as `host::open_location` (with the mock), the
API table lists it, and the shipped components are rebuilt for the new WIT.

A view's `icon` could only be a built-in icon name, so a plugin's tool
window button couldn't show the plugin's own mark. Like `fileIcons`, an

checks it at install time (a missing file or an SVG with `<script>` refuses

can't be loaded. Icon names work as before.

The test-events and delegated-run init scripts were written to a path built from the desktop's temporary directory, which doesn't exist on a remote host. crates/ide-host/tests/vcs_flow.rs takes rust-app through a day with Git
via the ops the app's commands call: an unsaved edit marked in the
gutter against HEAD, Local Changes and the file's diff once saved, a
commit at the head of the log, a branch with its own change, checkout
back with the open file following, a stash pushed and popped, and a
merge that conflicts. Then the open file shows the conflict, the three
versions are offered, and Accept Theirs is committed as a merge.
The language smoke now also checks, per language and against the
server the app starts: parameter info in a call being typed, the
Structure view's symbols, completing a name that isn't imported yet
(the import comes with it, through the item's edits or its command),
Optimize Imports on a typed import, and moving a file updating the
files that reference it (where the server supports it).
Git Log could lose commits when filtering by several paths, draw wrong
ancestry after filtering or collapsing rows, and open the wrong
repository in multi-root views. The graph is now projected over the full
commit DAG and laid out in Bek order, so filtered and collapsed views keep
the real ancestry; each log view keeps its own filters and requests.
Commit metadata, messages and path changes are kept in a persistent index
(by object id, in the IDE's cache directory) with seekable paging, and the
log gains parent-aware merge comparisons, a lazy revision browser,
read-only logs of repositories outside the project (opened with command
execution disabled), commit bookmarks, configurable built-in columns and
batched commit details. The adapted IntelliJ algorithms are attributed in
THIRD_PARTY_LICENSES.md.

extension runs itself. Optimize Imports in a TypeScript file asked the
servers to resolve and run that command and failed with "no language

A command that follows a code action's edit and that no server provides
is now skipped: the edit is applied, and resolving the command asks
nothing. An action that is only a command still reports it can't run.
Unity projects (a folder with Assets and ProjectSettings/ProjectVersion.txt)
are detected without a generated solution: Assets / Packages become source
roots, ProjectSettings resources, and Unity's cache and build folders are
excluded before they exist. A Unity pane in the Project view shows the
editor version and hides .meta files, generated C# project files and
caches (each can be shown again).
Operations on assets under Assets keep their .meta files consistent:
rename and move carry the metadata (same GUID), delete removes both, copy
generates new GUIDs and updates references inside the copied group, and
file-move undo and workspace edits include the metadata. Destination
metadata conflicts and links inside the project are rejected before
anything changes.

* test(lsp): smoke-test everyday code intelligence per language with real servers
A new ide-host integration test drives completion, go to definition, Find
Usages, hover, diagnostics with a quick fix, an intention, formatting and
rename on each language's fixtures/ project, through the ops the app's
commands call and the language server the app starts by default:
TypeScript (vtsls), Python (basedpyright + Ruff), Rust (rust-analyzer),
Go (gopls), Java (jdtls) and Kotlin (kotlin-lsp). A failure names the
language and the operation.
The tests are ignored by default; a Language smoke workflow installs pinned
server versions and runs one language per job on changes to crates/,
languages/ and fixtures/. Adds fixtures/java-app (Maven, JDK 21) for Java.

A provider call that starts a plugin instance (or reads files) can run past
the edit-path soft deadline on a slow runner and returns nothing; the tests

request only once the server has it, and measures from the cancel. The
SourcePreview test waits for the effect that marks the selection scope.

* feat(plugins): list community plugins from a registry in the marketplace
The marketplace index can now carry plugins of other publishers, published
from their authors' repositories through the l0ng-ai/openidea-plugins
registry.
- `openidea-plugin index` with a key replaces only that publisher's plugins
(it used to drop every other entry); without a key it indexes each package
against the publishers the index already lists, checking the key and the
id prefix instead of only the signature itself.
- `openidea-plugin merge` takes another index's publishers, plugins and
revocations in place of every publisher but `--keep`; the other index can't
list or revoke the kept publishers' plugins.
- `openidea-plugin check` accepts a `.oiplugin` file.
- Releases merge the registry's index into plugins-index.json and attach the
Linux x64 tool; plugins-index.yml refreshes the community plugins in the
latest release hourly or when the registry signals a change.
- plugins/README.md and CONTRIBUTING.md describe official and community
plugins.
* feat(plugins): offer the newest plugin version this IDE can load
Index entries record the plugin API each version needs (`engine`: the
manifest's `engines.openidea` narrowed to the API its component was built
for), and an index may list several versions of a plugin. Settings › Plugins
offers the newest version this IDE can load; with none, the plugin is shown
as incompatible with the API it needs, and downloading it is refused.
`openidea-plugin index` keeps, of each plugin, the newest version per API
requirement, so users of an older IDE keep the last version built for them;
`--download-base` makes downloads absolute, and the release workflow points
them at the release that published them. Scratch directories are now unique
per call.
* feat(plugins): file marketplace plugins under categories
`plugin.toml` takes `categories` (up to 3 of languages, themes, icon-themes,
linters, vcs, ai, frameworks, tools, other). A plugin that declares none is
filed under what its contributions imply (themes, icon themes, languages),
else under other; categories an IDE doesn't know are ignored, and `check`
warns about them. Index entries carry the categories, and Settings › Plugins
› Available filters by them and shows them in a plugin's details. The
official plugins declare theirs.
* feat(plugins): let a marketplace index point to where it moved
An index with `moved` sends the IDE to the index at that URL (relative or
absolute, up to three hops; an https index can only move to https). Downloads
resolve against the index actually read, so a marketplace can change hosts
while released IDEs keep the address they were built with.
* fix(plugins): full-width category filter and aligned incompatibility note
* fix(plugins): translate the AI category in Chinese
* feat(plugins): keep a plugin's signer across updates and announce updates
- Index format: fields are only added; an IDE reading a newer `format`
still applies its revocations and `moved`, lists no plugins and asks to
be updated, instead of failing to read the index.
- Key continuity: an installed plugin updates silently only to a package
signed with the same key, or a key it endorsed (`KeyEntry.endorsement`,
`index --previous-key`, `openidea-plugin endorse`). Another signer, or an
unsigned package replacing a signed one, is shown on the install page and
needs the user's confirmation (`Consent.signerChange`).
- Official key: release builds carry the official publisher's public key
(`OPENIDEA_OFFICIAL_PLUGIN_KEYS`, derived from PLUGIN_SIGNING_KEY);
`openidea.*` plugins must be signed with it or a key it endorsed,
whatever the index lists.
- Updates: the daily marketplace check announces new versions once, with
Update All (also in the gear menu and as an action). An update that asks
for nothing new installs with the grants the installed version has.
- Index entries need `engine`; `categories` beyond the first three are
ignored instead of rejecting the manifest.
The waits included the restart that ended them, and instantiating the plugin can take a few hundred milliseconds on CI, so a slow second restart made the third wait look no longer. Measure until the call that is let through and require the third wait to exceed the second by half the base backoff.
Settings › Plugins (gear menu) gets Import Theme from IntelliJ IDE… (theme plugins of the JetBrains IDEs on this machine, the one each IDE uses first) and Import IntelliJ Theme from File… (a Marketplace .jar / .zip or a .theme.json). The host reads the plugin with size limits; the UI converts it with the IntelliJ mapping (moved from scripts/theme to src/features/plugins/intellijTheme.ts, still used by pnpm theme:import-intellij) into one OpenIDEA theme plugin (engines.openidea ^1.0) with all of its themes, installed through the usual install page, and applies the chosen theme.
Theme pickers separate each plugin's themes, and Quick Switch Scheme › Theme previews the theme under the pointer or keyboard after 500 ms and restores the selected one when closed without a choice.

* fix(sdk): keep the drive letter of a Maven home found on a mapped drive
Maven discovery canonicalized mvn on PATH and each Maven home to resolve symlinks (Homebrew's
bin/mvn). On Windows, a home on a mapped network drive or a subst drive then became
\\?\UNC\server\share\… (or another drive), the Maven home setting picked from the list stored
that path, and cmd.exe can't start mvn.cmd from it: every Maven run failed with "The system
cannot find the path specified". Discovery now keeps the path as found when canonicalizing would
change its drive letter.

* fix(sdk): keep the drive letter of a JDK home on a mapped drive
A JDK on a mapped network drive was canonicalized to \\?\UNC\server\share\…
too, so Maven ran with that JAVA_HOME and mvn.cmd failed with "The system
cannot find the path specified" even with a local Maven home. JDK homes
(configured, JAVA_HOME, the java on PATH) now keep their drive letter like
Maven homes do.
* fix(maven): resolve current toolchain settings for each run
* fix(sdk): distinguish mapped roots from external launcher links
* test(run): preserve explicit Maven choices across save and reload
* fix(maven): keep edited nested test launchers when refreshing defaults
An absolute local mapping path outside the project falls back to the same path under the project. On Windows, joining it onto the project root kept its drive and replaced the root, so an existing outside folder became a mapping. The drive and root are now dropped first, and the mapping tests use the platform's absolute paths.
The Solidity syntax test asks again when the first call of a new instance runs past the edit-path budget and its answer is dropped.
The remote server didn't serve docker_run_env, so a remote window asked the local app, whose PATH then replaced the remote host's PATH in a run that starts there: docker compose failed with "docker: not found". icon themes, menus, key bindings, status items, settings, views, custom
editors, file icons and templates, run detectors, editor providers),
validated before anything takes effect and projected onto the workbench's
own registries: plugin themes and file icon themes are chosen in
Settings › Appearance and Quick Switch, plugin shortcuts are edited in
Settings › Keymap, plugin problems are grouped in Settings › Inspections.
- Capabilities with risk levels and consent at install, pinned `process:`
programs, secrets in the OS keychain.
- Runtime: one thread per active plugin, fuel/time/memory budgets, soft and
hard deadlines on the editing path, cancellation, crash backoff, idle
reclaim, a precompiled-component cache; remote projects run code plugins on
`openidea-server`.
- Web views and custom editors with a sandboxed page, a document bridge
joined to the text editor's undo history, and split or preview layouts.
- Distribution: signed `.oiplugin` packages, a static marketplace index with
revocation, versioned installs with rollback, install from a `.zip` or a
folder. The release workflow signs and publishes the official plugins and
their index, which released builds use as the default marketplace.
- Official plugins: String Tools, Key Promoter, Git Toolbox, AI Completion,
Checkstyle, MyBatis Navigator, CSV Editor, Solidity, Material Icons, Harbor
Night, Excalidraw, Graphviz, Regex Tester, License Header.

A linked worktree created below the project while it was open never joined the repository set: its files had no status entries or gutter marks until the project was reopened.
A linked worktree's `.git` is a gitfile and its HEAD lives under `<main>/.git/worktrees/<name>/`. The watcher classified both as non-metadata, `.git/worktrees` was never watched, and the repository rescan only reacted to `<repo>/.git/HEAD`. The watcher now reports the `.git` path and `.git/worktrees/**` (without `.lock` files) as VCS changes and watches `.git/worktrees`; the rescan accepts a worktree's `.git`; and the Add/Remove Worktree commands refresh the repository set directly, so both the in-IDE and the external `git worktree` paths are covered.

Root cause, two parts:
- An explicit save (Save All before a checkout, before running, before Commit) also wrote documents that were not modified, running save actions such as stripping trailing whitespace and adding a final newline on them — files the user never touched gained whitespace-only changes. Saves now skip clean documents, as autosave already did.
- After our own VCS operations rewrote files (checkout, rollback, stash, patch, ignore, commit/worktree hooks, Directory Compare), clean editor buffers were only refreshed by the file watcher, which can miss a rewrite that keeps the length and the timestamp's millisecond. Those operations now reload clean buffers synchronously before returning, keeping each document's chosen encoding; modified buffers keep the existing conflict handling.
